Brazilian supermodel, activist, and businesswoman, Gisele Bündchen, is a well-known figure in the fashion world. She was one of the world's highest-paid models for many years and has made savvy investments with her income. Before her marriage to former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, she purchased a lavish apartment in Manhattan in 2005, which she later sold for over double the original price. Now, after almost two decades, the property ownership is set to change hands once again. Here's everything you need to know about the house and its resale price.
Gisele Bündchen's former Manhattan townhouse in the West Village is up for resale, as reported by Mansion Global. The property's current listed market price is USD 16.995 million. The four-story house is located in the West Village neighbourhood on Barrow Street. Gisele was the owner of the house about 20 years ago. She purchased the home in 2005 for USD 5.8 million through a limited liability company and sold it in December 2009 for USD 12.95 million. The current owner has decided to sell the building for USD 16.995 million.
Notably, it is not the first time the house has been put up for sale after Giselle handed over its ownership to someone else. The current, unnamed owner also had plans to sell the Manhattan property in April 2024. He sought the same price; however, the deal did not go through, and he took it off the market in October of the same year.
Gisele Bündchen's former West Village house is a historic Italianate townhouse, built in 1851, located at 42 Barrow Street. It proved to be a profitable investment for her as she sold it for a hefty amount after renovating it. The house is 22.5 feet wide and has 5,336 square feet of living space spread across four floors, plus a finished basement. It contains four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two powder rooms. The entire fourth floor is a private primary suite with a double-height skylight, custom closets, and a soaking tub.
Its luxurious features include an elevator, seven wood-burning fireplaces, and a built-in sound system. The property boasts a private landscaped garden on the ground floor and a terrace on the third floor. The building has undergone significant improvements over the years, including the installation of a new roof, replacement of windows, and a revitalised library. Gisele sold the house ten months after marrying Tom Brady. She might have parted with the house two decades ago, but her separation from Tom Brady isn't a long history– it happened just three years ago.

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady divorced in 2022 after 13 years of marriage. Both of them confirmed the decision on their Instagram stories. Gisele expressed dissatisfaction with Tom's focus on football at the cost of their family, according to Yahoo News. Reports suggested that his decision to un-retire from the NFL contributed to the strain on their marriage. However, Gisele denied that Tom's career was the sole reason for the split. Following their divorce, they are focused on co-parenting. Giselle has also found love again in Joaquim Valente, while Tom reportedly remains single.
What are your thoughts on Gisele Bundchen's former Manhattan apartment being back in the market for USD 16.995 million? Let us know.
