Spine chilling mu**er involving families are nothing. Recently, an Indian origin couple based in Georgia came to the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Four members of the Georgia family were found dead in their residence in Lawrenceville, Georgia. According to multiple reports, an Indian origin man, Vijay Kumar, ki**ed his wife, Meenu Dogra, and three other relatives, Gourav Cumar, Nidhi Chander and Harish Chander. The grave incident occurred early in the morning on January 23, 2026.

Accused, Vijay Kumar, gets arrested, what are the charges against him?

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the 51-year-old accused's car was parked in the driveway, and thus, police utilised K-units to conduct a nearby search operation. They found Vijay Kumar, the accused, in a wooded area close by. He has been booked under multiple charges. According to the Gwinnett County Police, Vijay has been charged with four counts of Aggravated As**ult, four counts of Felony Mu**er, four counts of Malice Mu**er, one count of Cruelty to Children in the 1st degree, and two counts of Cruelty to Children in the 3rd degree.

Who are the victims in the chilling Georgia mu**er case?

Vijay Kumar and his wife, Meenu Dogra, lived in a home in Atlanta. Following an argument with her husband, she left the home along with their 12-year-old child. Vijay too accompanied her to the Lawrenceville home, where the relatives of the couple, Gourav Cumar, Nidhi Chander and Harish Chander lived. Following the feud, Vijay shot his wife and three relatives dead. The details regarding the argument are yet to be revealed. According to People, Meenu was 43, Gourav was 33, Nidhi was 37, and Harish was 38 when they took their last breath.

What happened to the child of the Georgia couple?

Vijay and Meenu were parents to a 12-year-old child. When the sh**ting incident took place, the 12-year-old remained hidden in a closet along with two minors, aged seven and ten. The two minors lived along with the three victims, Gourav Cumar, Nidhi Chander and Harish Chander in the Lawrenceville home. Vijay and Meenu’s 12-year-old child called the police by dialling 911. This helped the cops to reach the location within minutes. Reaching the spot, police found the three children safe, who remained hidden in a closet until the officials came to their rescue.

What led to the grave incident? Here's what we know

According to a statement by the Gwinnett County Police, the motive behind the ki**ings is still unknown. The investigation is underway. No other suspects have been found except Vijay Kumar. Giving an overview of the chilling mu**er case, the police said:

"An argument began between Dogra and Kumar at their home in Atlanta, and they travelled to the residence on Brook Ivy Court with their 12-year-old child. Gourav Cumar, Nidhi Chander, and Harish Chander, who are relatives of Dogra and Kumar, resided at the Brook Ivy Court home, along with two juveniles who are seven and ten years old. After the incident occurred, the 12-year-old child was the one who called 911. It is unknown at this time what the argument was about, why they came to the residence, or what led up to the incident. At this time, there are no outstanding suspects. The motive remains under investigation but appears to be domestic-related."

"We are deeply grieved by a tragic sh**ting incident linked to an alleged family dispute, in which an Indian national was among the victims. The alleged sh**ter has been arrested, and all possible assistance is being extended to the bereaved family. @MEAIndia @IndianEmbassyUS."
