Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar's intimate scene in Bade Acche Lagte Hain was the most talked-about sequence that was ever shown in the history of Indian television. While the actors were uncomfortable with it, Ram Kapoor's wife, Gautami Kapoor, had the most shocking reaction, banging the phone after hearing about it. Recently, Gautami talked about the same.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gautami talked about her reaction when she found out about her husband, Ram Kapoor, performing an intimate scene with Sakshi Tanwar. She said that she got a call at 2:30 in the morning, and at that time she was a breastfeeding mother. However, as soon as she heard about Ram going to shoot an intimate scene with Sakshi, she banged the phone on his face, as she didn't want to think about it. Gautami was quoted as saying:
"I got the call at 2.30 am. I was a mother who was breastfeeding at that time. So when I got the call at 2.30-3 am saying that, 'Listen baby, this is what has happened', my first reaction was I kept the phone on Ram. I was like, ‘What?’ I kept the phone on Ram. I didn’t even want to think further."

Gautami added that she later thought about her reaction and if it was too much. She decided to take her own time to understand her own emotion and if banging the phone on his face was the right thing to do. She added that Ram was working relentlessly day in and day out on the sets. There would be days when he wouldn't come home, and due to the work load, it gave her time to understand her emotions on the same. She said:
"I took that time to really reflect on whether it was right for me to bang the phone. Because, see, he was working for a relentless number of hours, day in and day out. There were days when he wouldn't come home, 24 hours, 48 hours. The workload used to be so much on television. It gave me time to reflect that what am I doing."

Bade Achhe Lagte Hai was the most-loved serial produced by Ekta Kapoor. It starred Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar in the lead, and it was about two completely opposite people in their mid-30s coming together in an arranged marriage, and they find joy in little things. Last year, Ram created a controversy when he talked about his sensational kissing scene with Sakshi Tanwar.

Ram went on to claim that while Sakshi was initially uncomfortable, he had warned Ekta Kapoor that the scene might backfire, as this had never happened on Indian television, as those were the days when the entire family would watch a serial together. He said:

"Ekta’s the one who wrote the scene, wanted us to do the scene. I told Ekta, ‘Are you sure you want to do this? Television mein kabhi hua nahi (It never happened on television). We were the first kiss of television, which is a big thing."
Ram further stated that the episode has the lowest rating, and Ekta had to deal with it. This left Ekta Kapoor super angry. Without naming Ram directly, Ekta shared an Instagram story calling out unprofessional actors giving an interview about her show, and asked him to shut up and not spread false information.
