Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan is married to the love of his life, Gauri Khan. Apart from being a celebrity wife, Gauri is known for her exceptional designing concepts and also owns her design studio, Gauri Khan Designs, since 2017. She has already designed many A-listers in the industry, including Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Nita Ambani, Manish Malhotra, Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra, and others. Recently, she launched her debut book, My Life in Design, published by Penguin Random House. This gives a tour into the adorable couple's lavishly decorated Mumbai home, Mannat.
Gauri Khan's journey of designing began by decorating her and her husband, Shah Rukh Khan's Delhi home. This was because after purchasing the house, the couple wasn't in a position to afford an interior designer. Thus, Gauri had to play the role. Afterwards, something similar happened when SRK and Gauri brought Mannat, which has turned into a heritage landmark over time. Check out Gauri's book's cover and other glimpses from the home:

Thus, she opened doors to the fans waiting with a bated heartbeat to get a glimpse of the same.
Post-launching her book, Gauri opened up about her thoughts behind designing Mannat in an interview with Vogue India. To this, Gauri pointed out that it would be the large-sized gates and explained:

“Maybe the gates, since they are unusually large. The house has a uniform style that is easily visible when you walk in. The primary focus for me was to ensure that each member of the family had their space but the house didn’t look disjointed in terms of the narrative.”
Further, in the conversation, Gauri shared that Mannat also hosts an old-school vibed library for her darling husband, SRK. The place is decorated in a manner where SRK could brainstorm while reading and writing and also have meetings and work discussions. Not only that, Mannat also has a specially designed place for their son, Aryan Khan. The place is designed in such a manner that the kid can both enjoy and also work seriously. She shared:
“A majority of Shah Rukh’s day, when he’s not shooting, is spent in the library. We have created a comfortable yet serious ambience. It’s warmly lit, has an old-school vibe to the way the library shelves are designed and is an atmosphere conducive to creativity. He (Aryan) hangs with his friends there and the lighting transforms the area into a casual spot to watch movies and play games, but it’s also a place he used to study in and writes and works in now.”

For Gauri design is like art, and she loves to put the same energy and passion into her every project. Thus, her home, Mannat, hosts a collection of artefacts and paintings and is no less than a sanctuary of design elements. Describing her design elements, Gauri added:
“Our bungalow area is designed to host parties and dinners and has a vast collection of artefacts, paintings and curios that have a story to tell. This is a place to unwind after a long day at work and it’s also where we spend a lot of time with friends and family. Design is an art like any other and as an artist, I hope to keep evolving with the art.”
