Gaurav Taneja and Ritu Rathee are among the most popular couples on social media, and they have created separate identities as influencers. Despite coming from a simple background, they worked hard to achieve fame and make their way into people's hearts. However, fans were left surprised when Ritu stepped away from social media despite being a popular influencer. It raised different kinds of speculations among fans, as no one could understand what went on behind the scenes. In a new conversation, Gaurav Taneja opened up about it.

Gaurav Taneja admits he was shocked when Ritu Rathee informed him about her decision to quit

Gaurav Taneja recently participated in an interaction with entrepreneur, Azhar Iqubal at IIT Delhi. During the conversation, Gaurav recalled how his wife, Ritu Rathee's decision to quit social media helped him understand the actual meaning of success in life. He revealed that his wife, Ritu, was also an influencer on social media, with nearly 2 million followers on her Instagram handle. But, when she informed him about her decision to quit actively posting on the platform, he was left off-guard. In his words: 

"Last year, she came to me and said, 'I don't want this'. She was the number one mom influencer in the country. Now, if you will go check her profile, she puts about one post in six months." At first, I was shocked by her decision. I told her, 'You are wasting this profile'."

Although, Gaurav felt that Ritu was wasting her hard work, the latter saw things differently. She explained to him that since their kids are growing up, she wanted to spend time with them and become a strong aspect of their lives. Ritu mentioned that she has a job and is happy with whatever she has. It made him understand how the meaning of success is different for everyone, unlike the notion that one needs to work 90 hours a week to be successful. Consequently, he believes everyone should be allowed to live their life as they want. Recalling Ritu's words, Gaurav said: 

"She replied to me, 'Why do you think having a big bank balance is success? That is your thinking. I want to spend time with my kids, and they are growing up, I want to be involved in their lives. And moreover, I am also a pilot, and I am content with that.'"

Gaurav Taneja recalled his experince of going on Shark Tank India 

In the same conversation, Gaurav Taneja revealed that Ritiesh Agarwal and Azhar, who is also a 'shark' or inventor on Shark Tank India, are his favourites, and it would have been interesting if he was a part of the episode where Gaurav pitched for his company. Amid this, someone from the crowd shouted Anupam's name and the YouTuber admitted that despite their debate, he believed that Anupam was a good person. But, he accepted that he learned nothing from his time on it. On the other hand, when someone mentioned Asheer Grover, Gaurav said: 

“Haan maja ata, aur maza ata thoda! Sony TV ko cut karne mein.”

Gaurav Taneja and Ritu Rathee met when Gaurav was a captain, and Ritu joined as a new pilot. They met at a hotel, and Ritu developed a liking towards him but remained professional. Later, she sent him a Facebook request, and they began talking. Soon, their bond turned into love. They tied the knot in 2016. But Gaurav was fired, and Ritu supported him when he decided to pursue law and start a business. In 2017, he started his YouTube channel about fitness while Ritu began her social media journey, sharing lifestyle content. They gained immense success and are parents to two daughters.
