Celebrity MasterChef: Gaurav Khanna Copied Swiss Chef's Dessert? Netizens Call It 'Embarrassing'

Celebrity MasterChef is a cooking competition show where different celebrities compete against each other. The show is moving towards its finale with Tejasswi Prakash, Nikki Tamboli, Rajiv Adatia, Faisal Shaikh and Gaurav Khanna competing for the title. Amid the last few battles to win the title, a new show promo has gone viral where Gaurav Khanna made a visually stunning honey-dripping dessert that left everyone, including the judges, spellbound. Although he received immense praise on the show for it, the dish has landed him into a major controversy outside the show. 

Gaurav Khanna copied his honey-dripping dessert in the race to the finale?

In a new promo from Celebrity MasterChef, Gaurav Khanna made a mesmerising honey-dripping dessert that left judges Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar impressed with its presentation, creativity and artistry before they tasted it. It was an extremely special moment for Gaurav, whose first dish on the show was 'uneatable'. Ranveer was stunned and called it a 'live dessert' while Vikas Khanna shared that he has seen a lot of repeated dishes, but his dessert was unexpected. In his words:

"There are times when I feel like I've seen everything, and it's just a repeat. But this… this is something new. Yeh nahi expect kiya tha.”

Consequently, the video of the visually stunning dish went viral, and amid praise, some netizens have now claimed that his dish isn't original but rather copied by a Swiss-based chef. The controversy became more severe when the Swiss chef, Dives Josh himself took a picture of his dish to his Instagram handle and shared it. He tagged it 'original' while taking a subtle dig at Gaurav's dish and re-sharing the promo. Along with the video, he shared some laughing emojis and penned:

"Well done, so creative…"

Netizens call Gaurav Khanna's dish 'copied' and 'embarrassing'

A new controversy emerged when netizens saw Dives's story. While some fans defended Gaurav by highlighting that he took inspiration or that his dessert was different, others criticised him for his actions. One netizen wrote, "Scam hai yeh toh. Matlab isko mufti mein aage kar diya. This Is truly embarrassing. Isse acha laughter chef mein aa jata." Another user penned:  

"It's so embarrassing, stealing someone else's dish and putting it in front of judges, and the judge's blinding spoon tapping it without any taste. OMG." 

Who is Gaurav Khanna?

Gaurav Khanna is a popular TV actor who began his career as a marketing manager before making his debut with Bhabhi. He rose to fame with his next show, Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan and Meri Doli Tere Angana. The actor has also worked in Jeevan Saathi – Humsafar Zindagi Ke, CID and Anupamaa. Gaurav Khanna's journey is special in Celebrity MasterChef because he received poor reviews for his initial dishes and worked hard to impress everyone with his culinary skills.
