Marriage is an institution that has its fair share of ups and downs. Nearly every couple goes through a significant phase of ups and downs. However, while some of their relationships crumble apart like sand castles, others stay strong no matter what. When it comes to Bollywood, there have been instances of quite a few couples whose marriages had been shaken to bits at one point. However, the couple decided to deal with it maturely and gave their marriage a second chance. Well then, look at these celeb wives who gave a second chance to save their failing marriages!

One of Bollywood’s iconic actors, Govinda is a name known to many. The actor is happily married to his wife, Sunita Ahuja, and the duo leads a happy household with their children. However, there was a time when Sunita and Govinda’s marriage had hit rock bottom when it was speculated that the latter was in a romantic relationship with the frequent leading lady of his films, Rani Mukerji. As this piece of gossip was slowly turning into a full-scale scandal affecting their household, Sunita decided to step in and forbade her husband to sign any other films with Rani. Not just that, she also demanded a full-scale public apology from her husband. Thereafter, Sunita forgave Govinda and gave their marriage a second chance.
While late Dilip Kumar and his darling wife and former actress, Saira Bano made for one of the perfect Bollywood couples, their marriage's reality was not the same for quite a few years. It was reported that even after their wedding on October 11, 1966, Dilip kept loving his former girlfriend and leading lady, Madhubala. Thereafter, there was also an incidence of him having an affair with actress, Asma, who later double-cheated on him. This incident gave a much-needed reality check to Dilip Kumar, and he returned to his wife, Saira Bano. The latter forgave him, and the couple reconciled.
Veteran actor, Yogeeta Bali had been nursing the fresh wounds of divorce from Kishore Kumar when she gave love a second chance and married Mithun Chakraborty in 1979. However, little did she know that her life was to face yet another heartbreak when her husband got secretly married for the second time to Sridevi while he was still married to her. However, while Mithun’s affair concluded shortly after due to the overwhelming negative responses they received once their marriage news spread, he returned to his first wife. So, Yogeeta decided to give their relationship a second chance and saved her marriage.

Poonam Sinha married the angry khaamosh man of Bollywood, Shatrughan Sinha and created a happy household with them. The couple was blessed with their first child and daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, on June 1987. However, things turned topsy-turvey in the middle of their happy times when Shatrughan got involved with his then-leading lady of films, Reena Roy. Their extramarital affair had reportedly risen to a pivotal when Shatrughan was even thinking of divorcing Poonam and marrying Reena. The matriarch of the great Kapoor clan of Bollywood, Krishna, wedded Raj Kapoor in 1946. However, what seemed a happy match initially did not keep up to be one in reality. It was reported that even after their wedding, Raj Kapoor had been in some of the most talked-about affairs with leading actresses like Nargis and Vaijayanthimala. However, through all these testing times, Krishna Kapoor stood beside her husband and desperately tried to save their marriage. Finally, and thankfully, she succeeded in winning back her husband and gave their marriage a second chance.

The bubbly Punjabi kudi, Neetu Kapoor, entered the big fat Kapoor khandaan in 1980 after marrying her beau and co-star, Rishi Kapoor. The couple led a perfectly happy life together for many years until their relationship hit rock bottom at one point in time. Rishi Kapoor’s frequent drinking problem became the main bone of conflict in their relationship. Reportedly, Rishi even became violent after excessive drinking. While things were slowly turning to the bitter end, Neetu decided to save their falling apart wedding and gave Rishi a second chance. This worked wonders as Rishi gradually lessened his drinking habits and returned to a normal life.
Television actress, Deepshikha Nagpal had already faced the brunt of an unhappy marriage when she got married for a second time to fellow television actor, Kaishav Arora in 2012. Moreover, Kaishav won Deepshikha's heart when he whole-heartedly accepted her children from her previous marriage and adopted them as his own. Things were sailing smoothly for the couple until 2018 when cracks appeared in their relationship. The couple were even on the verge of filing for divorce when Deepshikha gave one last chance at their wedding, especially thinking about her children. And rightfully, their marriage worked with this new chance, and the couple emerged stronger.
Zarina Wahab is one such celebrity wife whose marital life has faced some of the most drastic ups and downs. Her marriage with actor, Aditya Pancholi shattered into fragments when the latter’s scandalous affair with the then-upcoming actress, Kangana Ranaut, surfaced in the media. There was also a strong rumour that Zarina had decided to move away from Aditya, taking along their son, Sooraj.
However, it all turned out to be mere gossip when Zarina came upfront and defended her husband when his affair with Kangana became listed with accusations of physical abuse. Later on, she forgave her husband and gave their marriage a second chance. Speaking about it in an interview with Mirror, Zarina proudly opened up on never leaving her husband. In her words:
"Why will I end a 29-year-old marriage for such a small thing? I'd be the last person to think this way. I'm an extremely positive and grounded human being and I love my husband very much. I will never leave him."
