The beloved American fantasy comedy franchise, Freaky Friday, is all set to make a comeback with another movie. The iconic on-screen mother and daughter duo played by Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan is all set to star in the Disney sequel, Freakier Friday. As per reports, most of the previous cast members will also be reprising their roles. However, there are some exciting new additions, such as Manny Jacinto, who has been announced as the new love interest of Lindsay's character 'Anna'. 

Manny Jacinto is a Filipino-Canadian actor who played minor roles in popular movies like Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick and Bad Times at the El Royale. However, he rose to prominence as 'Jason Mendoza' in the sitcom, The Good Place. Now, as Manny is all set to play the handsome love interest of Lindsay in Freakier Friday, his fans couldn't be happier.

The 2003 film, Freaky Friday, was based on the Mary Rodgers novel with the same name. The film starred Lindsay Lohan as 'Anna' and Jamie Lee Curtis as her mother, 'Tess'. The mother and daughter, unable to communicate with each other without arguing, switch bodies after consuming magical fortune cookies. This leads to hilarious situations and chaos. However, along the way, they gain a deeper understanding of each other's lives and problems, which helps them to switch back into their rightful place through selfless love. 

The film was a commercial success, and the performances of both Lindsay and Jamie were widely appreciated. The latter was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Actress in a Motion Picture. At the box office, Freaky Friday broke records and collected around USD 160 million, even though it was made on a budget of a mere USD 26 million.

Coming back to Manny Jacinto, he is a Filipino-Canadian actor who rose to prominence with the popular sitcom, The Good Place. Before venturing into acting, Manny was a dancer. Later, frustrated by the lack of representation and opportunities for Asian actors in Canadian cinema, the actor relocated to Los Angeles to try his luck with Hollywood. Gradually, from minor roles, Manny started getting better characters, and now he is all set to star as a male lead in a sizeable project. In his personal life, Manny is engaged to his long-time partner and actress, Dianne Doan.

Citing the under-representation of Asian actors in lead roles, many people are beyond excited that Manny Jacinto is getting the opportunity to showcase his talents with a good role.
