Formula 1 legend, Michael Schumacher, is currently hogging the limelight due to widespread confusion. For the unversed, renowned author, Michael Schumacher, best known for his wide-ranging biographies, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 75. The disheartening news of his death was confirmed by his daughter, Emily Joy Schumacher. The exact cause of death is yet to be revealed.
However, the author’s death has caused widespread confusion on the internet, due to his identical name to the Formula 1 world champion. Social media platforms were flooded with tributes pouring in for the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Michael Schumacher. Amid the false death reports of Michael, let us introduce you to the Formula 1 legend’s wife, Corinna Schumacher.

Corinna Schumacher was born as Corinna Betsch on March 2, 1969, in Halver. According to a report by The Sun, Corinna is a sporting champion. She is widely known as the wife of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion. In 2010, she became a winner at the European Western-style Horse Riding Championship. Besides being a sporting champion, according to a report by She The People, Corinna is a German animal rights activist and professional equestrian. Earlier, in 2006, she became a spokesperson for PETA. She owns two horse ranches, one in Texas and the other in Switzerland.

Corinna and Michael have been married for more than three decades now. The duo first met in 1991 through a mutual friend. Within four years after their first meeting, the couple tied the knot in 1995. Michael and Corinna are parents to two children, a daughter named Gina Maria and a son named Mick. Gina Maria was born on February 20, 1997 and is now a successful equestrian. While Gina followed her mom’s footsteps, Mick followed his father’s footsteps. He was born on March 22, 1999 and pursued a career in motorsport. He also competed in Formula 1 during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

However, Corinna and Michael never had a serious fight. Speaking of the same, in 2013, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Michael Schumacher, said to a German TV channel that the reason behind not engaging in a fight was their shared values. 2013 was a tough year for Michael Schumacher and his family. However, Corinna played a key role in maintaining the privacy of the Formula 1 legend during the tough phase. Michael suffered a brain injury while skiing in the French Alps when his head hit a rock. In a critical condition, the Formula 1 legend was rushed to the hospital and was placed in a medically induced coma. Later, in January 2014, Michael was brought out of a coma. According to a report by ESPN, Corinna gave a rare insight into their private life after the horrific accident of Michael in the 2021 Netflix documentary, Schumacher. She was quoted as saying:
"Michael is here. Different, but he's here, and that gives us strength, I find. We're together. We live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he's comfortable. And to simply make him feel our family, our bond. And no matter what, I will do everything I can. We all will. We're trying to carry on as a family, the way Michael liked it and still does. And we are getting on with our lives. 'Private is private', as he always said. Michael always protected us, and now we are protecting Michael."

For those unaware, Michael retired from Formula 1 in 2012. However, a looming danger struck him just after Christmas in 2013. He was enjoying family time when the tragic incident took place. In the 2021 Netflix documentary, Corinna revealed Michael’s last message to her just before the tragic accident. She was quoted as saying:
"Shortly before it happened in Meribel, he said to me: 'The snow isn't optimal. We could fly to Dubai and go sky diving there'. I have never blamed God for what happened. It was just really bad luck, all the bad luck anyone can have in life. It's always terrible when you say: 'Why is this happening to Michael or us?' But then why does it happen to other people?"
This is not the first time that false death reports of Formula 1 legend, Michael Schumacher, have surfaced on the internet. After he suffered a head injury during a 2013 skiing trip, in April 2014, he fell victim to a death hoax that went viral on X (formerly Twitter). A user posted "RIP Michael Schumacher. A legend of the sport", which made people believe that the Formula 1 legend had passed away. Later, his manager confirmed it to be a false report.
