The 2007 film, Om Shanti Om remained one of the favourite films among cine-lovers. From marking the debut of one of the successful actresses, Deepika Padukone, to the plot and songs on it, everything was top-notch, and people never stop going down the road and re-watch this blockbuster movie. In this movie, there was a song, Deewangi Deewangi, which featured 31 actors from B-town, along with Mithun Chakraborty. And Farah Khan recently revealed how a stampede was caused as Mithun arrived on the set to shoot the song.
In a recent interview with Radio Nasha, Farah Khan walked down the memory lane and recalled how as soon as Mithun Chakraborty arrived on the set, it caused a stampede. The filmmaker mentioned that people on the set went crazy as soon as Mithun arrived, and she couldn't even believe her eyes. Farah added that even the light boys and everyone else just hopped on the set and handed over their phones to Shah Rukh Khan so that they could click photos with Mithun. Stating that it felt like Mithun was a president somewhere, Farah added:

"People went crazy for Mithun da, and even I couldn’t believe it. There was a stampede on the set. Mithun da also came after a long time, so light boys and everybody came on the set. I think he was the president of some association and had done a lot for workers. They were literally giving their phones to Shah Rukh to click their photos with Mithun da.”

Earlier, in an interview on IFTDA’s YouTube channel, Farah Khan talked in detail about the song, Deewangi Deewangi. She shared that Amitabh Bachchan couldn't make it to the song as it was shot during Abhishek and Aishwarya's wedding week. She also added that several celebrities like Hema Malini and Aamir Khan couldn't appear in the song, and some even gatecrashed and appeared unexpectedly. Talking more about the same, Farah shared that Shah Rukh, who was also the producer of Om Shanti Om, gifted everyone with goodie bags worth Rs. 1 lakh, and the actresses were asked to take the costumes along with them, which were specially made by none other than Manish Malhotra.
With a career span of more than five decades, Mithun Chakraborty has contributed to more than 350 films in several Indian languages, and he has a massive fanbase. There's no denying the fact that his acting and dancing mettle used to melt the cinema fanatics during her time. However, it was in January 2024 that the actor was awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan award.

Talking about the same, the actor stated that he couldn't believe it, and after all the hard work when he received such an award, it made him speechless. He dedicated his award to his fans. Talking about his pre-professional life, the 73-year-old actor was last seen in the Bengali dance reality show, Dance Bangla Dance as a judge.
