In 1999, South Indian actor, Suriya had met the love of his life, Jyothika Sadanah, during the filming of Poovellam Kettupar. As per the reports, it was Jyothika's sincerity and dedication towards her work that had attracted Suriya. During the filming of Kaakha Kaakha (2003), the two had fallen in love. After their film was released and had turned out to be a blockbuster at box-office, reports were rife that the couple had exchanged the rings.
According to multiple reports, Suriya and Jyothika's engagement was a low-key ceremony, and it was also reported that Suriya had got engaged to Jyothika to get some time to convince his parents about their relationship and marriage.
