Famous Businessman Stabbed By 28-Year-Old Grandson 73 Times Over Property Dispute Of Rs. 460 Crore

VC Janardhan Rao was a famous industrialist and the Chairman and Managing Director of the Rs. 460 crore Veljan Group of Companies. The company deals in Hydraulic equipment, shipbuilding and industrial applications. However, the industrialist was brutally murdered by his own 28-year-old grandson, Keerthi Teja. 

Famous industrialist from Hyderabad stabbed to death by his own grandson

The 86-year-old industrialist, VC Janardhan Rao, was murdered by his 28-year-old grandson, Keerthi Teja, who returned from the US after a postgraduate course. Last week, he and his mother, Sarojini Devi, visited his grandfather's home in Hyderabad. Teja and his grandfather were talking, and his mother was in the kitchen to make tea when an argument broke between them. 

According to reports, the grandfather-grandson's argument got heated over a director position in the company. The grandson didn't like that he was not appointed as the director of Veljan Group. Instead, shares of Rs. 4 crore were transferred to Teja, while the industrialist chose his eldest daughter's son, Srikirshna, as the director. 

The industrialist was stabbed 70 times by his grandson

During the heated argument, Teja accused his grandfather of unfair treatment and accused him of neglecting him. However, things turned ugly when Teja lost his cool and stabbed his grandfather with a knife which he had brought with him. The accused stabbed his elderly grandfather over 70 times. 

Police have confirmed that there have been multiple stab wounds. However, they are awaiting the autopsy report that would confirm the exact number. During the incident, after hearing the noises, his mother rushed to intervene, and Teja attacked her with the knife. She has been hospitalised with four knife wounds.

The grandson is in police custody

The report further states after brutally murdering his grandfather, Teja threatened the security guard who witnessed the murder and left the scene. But he was soon arrested by the police, produced in court and sent to judicial custody. Some reports claim that Teja was under the influence of drugs when he killed his grandfather.
