Why Is 'The Family Man's' 'Meera', A.K.A, Nimrat Kaur Still Single At 43? Once Said, 'Marriage Is..'

The Family Man Season 3 has become the talk of the town since its premiere on November 21, 2025. Manoj Bajpayee as the protagonist, 'Srikant Tiwari', has always won the viewers' hearts. However, this time the antagonists dominated the screens in season 3. Jaideep Ahlawat as 'Rukma' and Nimrat Kaur, who portrays 'Meera Eston', charmed the audience with their intense villainy. Amid this, people have become more interested in their personal lives and relationships. However, at 43, Nimrat is still single, and here's the reason why. 

Nimrat Kaur once said she was scared of being stuck in a 'fake marriage'

As a woman who has chosen to stay single and not get married, Nimrat Kaur has faced questions about her future wedding plans numerous times. In an older interview with News18, the Airlift actress asked, "Why is marriage the only form of stability for a woman?” Nimrat also revealed that when she was still trying to carve a space for herself in the acting world, everyone around her would immediately advise her to get married if she faced any hitch in her career. The actress was quoted as saying:

“If my career hit even the smallest bump—if the money wasn’t flowing or if I wasn’t ‘where I should be’—they’d immediately suggest marriage. As if my life was incomplete without it!”

In the same interview, Nimrat got even more candid, saying she isn't scared of being single. However, the actress did dread the thought of being stuck in a 'fake marriage'. The actress also called out those who impose their beliefs on others. Nimrat said:

“What scares me more than being single is being stuck in a fake marriage. People who didn’t make brave choices in their own lives often push others into conformity. They see someone coloring outside the lines and try to pull them back in. But I refuse to be one of them.”

Nimrat Kaur isn't opposed to getting married. She is just not in a rush to embark on the next chapter of her life. In an older India.Times interview, The Lunchbox actress shared that marriages happen at their own time. Hence, she is still waiting to meet the right person. However, it's not that Nimrat doesn't want to get married at all. The actress shared:

“I was asked why I don’t want to get married, just because I am not married yet. I was like, I don’t know how you got this in your head! It has got nothing to do with not wanting to do something, just because I am currently not married. Marriage is something, they’re a matter of providence and they happen at their own time, when you meet the right person. I don’t think these things can be orchestrated.”

Nimrat and Abhishek were also incessantly trolled for the alleged infidelity.
