'Fallout' Season 2: Macaulay Culkin And Kumail Nanjiani Makes Surprise Cameo In The 'End Times'

The first season of Fallout premiered in April 2024. Since its end, fans have been eagerly waiting for Season 2 to come out. If you were one of them, we are here to tell you that the wait is finally over, as the official 'Fallout' account released the trailer a few hours ago on X (formerly Twitter), announcing that the show will become available for streaming on December 17, 2025, on Amazon Prime. The lengthy trailer reveals quite a bit, from new locations to various conflicts, so without further ado, 'let the end times roll'. 

What to expect from Amazon's Fallout Season 2?

The new season of Fallout is set to continue the story in the aftermath of Season 1's finale, which left everyone shocked. This season is going to be particularly exciting for fans of the video game Fallout: New Vegas, by Interplay Productions. The season will begin with the surviving characters and follow them as they journey through the Mojave wasteland and make their way to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.

FalloutAccording to the official Season 2 trailer, this season will also offer fans a deeper look at the evolving relationship between the characters who were adversaries in the first season, 'Lucy' and 'The Ghoul'. After becoming allies, what lies ahead for them is a tense reunion when 'The Ghoul' comes face-to-face with 'Mr. House', the ruler of New Vegas. Apart from this, the upcoming season will also take the viewers along on 'Lucy's' quest to confront her father, 'Hank MacLean', who fled to New Vegas at the end of Season 1.

Who are the returning and new cast members in Fallout Season 2?

Among the returning cast members, we have Ella Purnell as 'Lucy', Walton Goggins as 'Ghoul', and Francis Turner as 'Barb'. Other supporting cast members like Kyle MacLachlan and Moisés Arias will also return to reprise their roles from the first season as 'Hank MacLean', the father of 'Lucy' and overseer of Vault 33, and 'Norm MacLean' as 'Lucy's' brother, respectively.

Additionally, while actor, Rafi Silver, played the role of 'Mr. House' in Fallout's first season, he is set to be replaced by Justin Theroux in this upcoming season. The series will also see more new faces in the form of Kumail Nanjiani as a 'Brotherhood of Steel' pilot and Macaulay Culkin in a surprise cameo as a member of 'Caesar’s Legion'.

Fallout 2Fallout Season 2, a production by Kilter Films, has also brought back its executive producers from the first season — Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, Todd Howard, and James Altman. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner will act as the showrunners for this series.

Will there be a third season for Fallout?

The first season of Fallout amassed more than 100 million viewers worldwide, ranking among Prime Video's top three most-watched series ever. Due to its increasing popularity and lengthy storyline, we are not only getting Fallout Season 2 in December 2025, but a third season has also been confirmed. In a joint statement, executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy stated:

“The holidays came a little early this year — we’re thrilled to be ending the world again with Season 3 of 'Fallout'.”
