She went to Kent-Meridian High School after transferring from Renton High and found success in soccer from a young age. According to the Kent Reporter, Olivia grew up and played for the University of Nevada women's soccer team, serving as both a defender and forward. She graduated with a degree in Biology on May 22 and intends to travel and pursue a career in medicine after her graduation. 

On the other hand, Carter and Michael Penix Jr have been dating since at least November 2023, when they shared their first glimpses. But rather than engaging in PDA, the couple prefers to keep it low-key. Olivia often manages to be by Michael's side, and they were together when he received the call informing him that he had been drafted as the eighth overall pick. At the same time, she was with him when he was named as the starting quarterback for the Falcons later in 2024. The duo enjoys traveling together and has taken trips together, including to Jamaica in May 2024 and Hawaii in July, documenting their adventures for fans.

Michael Penix Jr. went down on his knees to ask Olivia Carter a question on December 29, 2024. The couple shared intimate glimpses of the moment with fans, which showed how he had arranged a romantic, red-themed proposal for her. The setup was mesmerising with red roses, candles, and giant block letters spelling out "MARRY ME." Olivia called the moment him her "best friend" and expressed her gratitude for their shared journey through her Instagram. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons Quarterback penned:

"I will love you forever. I can't wait to do life with you."

Michael Penix Jr. and Olivia Carter's love story has been all about mutual support, especially during his rookie NFL season. It was Olivia who stood by him and pursued her passions after college.
