Popular Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan was brutally attacked during an attempted robbery at his Bandra residence in Mumbai during the early hours of January 16, 2025. The shocking incident has left the actor hospitalised with serious injuries, while his family and fans are still grappling with the emotional aftermath. Recently, Lalita D’Silva, the former nanny of Saif’s elder son, Taimur Ali Khan, opened up about the distressing impact the attack might have on Saif’s young children.
Lalita D’Silva, who used to be the nanny of Saif and Kareena’s elder son, Taimur Ali Khan, recently talked to Pinkvilla following the stabbing incident. She expressed her concern for the two kids by saying:
"I am feeling very bad, and it is unbearable for me to imagine how Taimur and Jeh will be feeling at this point, especially Jeh, who is so young."
In case you didn’t know, reports have revealed that Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by the burglar when he tried to stop him from entering his younger son, Jeh’s room. According to a report by Lokmat, the attacker was hiding in Jeh's room when the whole incident happened.
The attacker, who had allegedly demanded Rs. 1 crore ransom, was first caught by one of the house helps of Saif and Kareena, Eliyama Phillipes. Saif, who then fought the intruder, was stabbed six times during the process, during which he even sustained a deep wound with a 2.5-inch piece of the knife lodged near his spine. Talking about the terrifying turn of events, former nanny, Lalita told Pinkvilla:
"They must have got really scared. I am feeling very anxious about this whole incident, and firmly believe that the culprits must be punished. I haven't been able to speak to anyone from the family yet, but I wish and pray that they are all safe."
Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital between 3:00 and 3:30 a.m., where a team of doctors immediately performed surgery to remove the knife and treat his injuries. The medical team was led by neurosurgeon, Dr Nitin Dange and cosmetic surgeon, Dr Leena Jain. According to a hospital source, Saif sustained six injuries in total: two minor, two moderate, and two severe wounds. One of the severe injuries, located near his spine, required urgent and critical care. While Saif is now in stable condition, he remains in the ICU for observation.

A few hours ago, Kareena took to her IG handle to pen down an official statement on the recent turn of events. The actress requested the media to refrain from making speculations, given the amount of difficulty the family was already undergoing. She wrote:
"It has been an incredibly challenging time for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time. I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculations and coverage."
