Euphoria fans are in for a surprise as HBO's hit teen drama is officially returning with its third season. While the return is not new news, this time the show will witness a massive shake-up in both its cast and storyline. After the emotional ending of Season 2, which ended in 2022, fans are excited to see how the new installment unfolds. Here's everything to know about it.
HBO confirmed on October 17, 2025, that the third season of the show will feature eight episodes and will continue the story of 'Rue', played by Zendaya, as she deals with life after high school. According to Deadline, the show went into production in February 2025 in LA. According to Variety, Euphoria Season 3 is set to premiere in Spring 2026, marking four years since the last season aired.
The series, directed by Sam Levinson, that took Zendaya's popularity to new heights, is set to return this time with 18 new cast members, a darker story, and an even significant time jump. Apart from Zendaya, some popular faces on the show will not return. Some of the significant faces who will not return include Austin Abrams, Algee Smith, Storm Reid, and Barbie Ferreira, who had earlier announced her exit in 2022.
Despite the fans missing old faces, there is excitement for the new cast additions. According to Variety, the show is introducing 18 new names, including Trisha Paytas, Jessica Blair Herman, Natasha Lyonne, Madison Thompson, Eli Roth, Danielle Deadwyler, Bella Podaras, and more. They will be joined by Sharon Stone, Toby Wallace, Kadeem Hardison, and Asante Black. Although HBO has not yet disclosed details about the characters that these new actors will play, the casting hints at a more expansive storyline.
Euphoria Season 3 will stream exclusively on HBO and Max (formerly HBO Max) upon release. Fans can expect it to follow the weekly episode drops pattern, followed by the previous two seasons. Due to the show's previous success and passionate global fanbase, there is high anticipation for its return. The same outlet hinted that this could be the final season of the series, though HBO has not made an official confirmation.

Euphoria Season 3 will take a new direction while staying true to the series' raw and emotional storytelling. The Showrunner, Sam Levinson, revealed in a previous interview that the season will adopt a 'film noir' tone centered around 'Rue's journey. The plot will be set nearly five years after her high school as she will try to deal with life as a young adult amid love, loss, addiction, and identity in an increasingly complex world. Zendaya's Rue will reportedly face moral challenges as she attempts to "maintain her principles in a corrupt society."
