Is Eugene Mirman 'ok' after his car crash?

Eugene Mirman, best known for voicing the character of 'Gene Belcher,' was seriously injured after his car crash. The incident took place on March 31, 2026, in Bedford, New Hampshire. According to the authorities and reports cited by TMZ, Eugene was the only person in the car that caught fire when it struck a toll booth at Everett Turnpike. The impact of the car caused it, an allegedly electric vehicle, to catch fire immediately. 

Eugene Mirman was caught inside his blazing car's locked door, but he fortunately had a good rapid escape. A state trooper, who was a part of New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte's security, rushed to pull the actor from a window engulfed in flames. Witnesses and cops later said:

"The driver was then pulled from the burning car through a window and brought to safety."

Eugene Mirman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for his serious injuries. Although initial reports suggested that his condition was severe, a later update from his representative brought some relief. According to his agent, the actor is now stable and "grateful to be on the mend." Despite his injuries not being life-threatening. His family has requested privacy as he continues his recovery. While witnesses and even the governor praised the efforts of the trooper who saved him.

What caused Eugene Mirman's car crash?

The exact reason behind Eugene Mirman's car crash is still under investigation. According to the New Hampshire State Police, the accident took place before noon when the voice actor's vehicle collided with a toll plaza booth. The exact cause has not yet been determined, and officials have not confirmed if speed, mechanical failure, or any other factor played a role.

Therefore, for now no charges have been filed as of now. Meanwhile, the toll plaza was temporarily down for assessment and repairs following the impact and fire damage. But now they have reopened the site after ensuring it was safe for use. Colonel Mark Hall of the New Hampshire State Police described the incident as a "pretty dangerous situation."
