Esha Deol, daughter of Hema Malini and Dharmendra, successfully made her own identity in the film industry. Her acting in films like Dhoom, Dus, and No Entry earned her a lot of love. However, not many know that Esha had her own share of struggles in the film industry despite being the daughter of the Dream Girl of the nation, but she was able to carve her own illustrative pathway. Talking about her personal life, she was brought up in a conservative environment, which also helped her shape her life.
Recently, in an interview with Hauterrfly, Esha shared how she learned about mensuration and sex education at her school. The actress also talked about the restrictions she had while growing up during her periods. She shared that she wasn't allowed to go to the temple and pray as it was a practice followed in many Indian households.
Esha shared that once the periods are over, they were allowed to first wash the hair and then pray. The actress revealed that it is also an orthodox practice that she still follows and respect it as being part of the house. She said:
"We were not allowed to go to the temple and pray. When it is done, you can wash your hair and then you can pray. That’s just an orthodox way and I follow. I respect it if that’s a part of the house you live in."
Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Esha Deol revealed the reason behind her father, Dharmendra not allowing her to be a heroine in the Hindi film industry. She said that she wanted to join movies, but she found it difficult to convince her father about the same. Esha stated that it was because he was protective as a male, but she didn't understand it as she wanted to fly. Esha was quoted as saying:
"My dad. Not because of anything else, but because he is more protective as a male, and he wanted to keep us more private. I was, on the other hand, all excited and ready to fly."
Last year, in an interview with the Bombay Times, Esha Deol was questioned why Dharmendra didn't want her to appear in films. The gorgeous actress shared that the decision was made by the orthodox Punjabi male, who is extremely protective of the women in his family. She added that it was his way of showing protectiveness and nothing else. Esha further shared that with time, everything fells into place.
