Emaan Atienza Took A Break From Social Media Before Her Death, Felt 'Anxious' After Hate Comments

In a shocking turn of events, Filipino television host Kim Atienza's 19-year-old daughter, Emman, also known as Emmanuelle Atienza, passed away. Emman made a name for herself in the digital world and had a strong presence on TikTok. However, a month before her death, Emman took a break from social media.

Emman Atienza loved documenting her life on social media, which brought her immense joy. However, in a series of posts on her Instagram broadcast channel on Sept. 1, 2025, Emaan briefly revealed that she had deactivated her TikTok account because she found it difficult to stay authentic. Revealing how social media made her confident, Emman wrote:

“I started posting on TikTok last year as a little diary & as exposure therapy because I was very insecure of my looks and personality for a long time. Not only have I become infinitely more confident, secure and authentic, I’ve also met so many amazing people along the way.”

In the same post, Emaan mentioned feeling ‘anxious’ with the constant hate she was subjected to. She was also bullied in the comments, which made it difficult for her. She also revealed the reason for deactivating her profile as she wanted to take a break to collect her thoughts. Revealing she never used social media to earn money, Emman wrote:

“I never really did social media for money, I did it for fun, self-expression, and community. Maybe I’d put up with the hate knowing I’d be receiving a paycheck at the end of every month. But my main compensation was always the joy & passion I felt when posting — which has been fading.”

What was the reason for Emman Atienza's death?

Emman Atienza was a popular social media personality who built a massive following at 19, with over 900,000 on TikTok and 240,000 on Instagram. She was a rising star of GMA’s Sparkle agency for her social media success. She was an advocate for mental well-being and empowered Gen Z through body positivity.

If the reports are to be believed, Emman was found dead at her home in Los Angeles. The reason for Emman's death hasn't been disclosed or confirmed, as of now. However, if a report by Gulf News is to be believed, Los Angeles County records indicated that the cause of Emman's death was ligature hanging. However, there is no confirmation on it.
