Emma Chamberlain On Why She Only Dates Musicians, Quotes Sabrina Carpenter, 'I Swear They Choose Me'

Many people might recognise Emma Chamberlain as a social media personality and influencer, but in recent years, she has also started to leave her mark as a podcaster and businesswoman. Furthermore, being the fashionista that she is, she has also become a significant figure in the fashion world, especially since working as a reporter for Vogue at the Met Gala and becoming an ambassador for luxury brands like Louis Vuitton. With her massive fan following and life being constantly in the spotlight, her dating life has also been in the public eye. The content creator has previously dated singer-songwriters like Role Model and Peter McPoland. Podcaster, Owen Thiele, recently asked her the question we've all been wondering about: why she dates only musicians? Here's what Emma said.  

Emma Chamberlain opens up about her dating life 

We have all opened up about our dating life in front of our friends at least once in our lives, and Emma Chamberlain is no different. The content creator recently sat down for a conversation with friend and podcaster, Owen Thiele, on an episode of his In Your Dreams podcast. In the November 28, 2025, episode titled I got stuffed with Emma Chamberlain, Owen took it upon himself to find out why Emma only ever dates musicians. He asked, "Um, Emma, can I ask you a question? Why do you keep dating musicians?" After laughing at his abrupt question, Emma answered it with a quote. Not just any quote, but one from Sabrina Carpenter's song Manchild off of her latest album, Man's Best Friend. She said: 

"To quote Sabrina Carpenter, once again, 'I swear they choose me. I'm not choosing them'." 

While Emma doubled down on the fact that it was they who was choosing her, she also laughed and admitted that she chose them a little too. According to the 24-year-old, she had a way to prove that the musicians were, in fact, choosing her, and not the other way around. Calling it "interesting evidence", she revealed: 

"I have never slid into the DM of a musician. Only ever has the music man slid in to mine. I have never walked up to at a bar a man in music. Only ever has a man in music walked up to me at a bar." 

After listening to her evidence, Owen quickly pointed out how Emma actually attracts musicians and jokingly questioned if it's like a talent. He further asked whether the root of Emma's attraction to them stems from watching them perform on stage. Emma admitted that while it is a small part of it, it's not the root cause, and she herself cannot figure out what it is.  

Emma Chamberlain revealed how dating musicians might be a coincidence  

According to Emma, her dating only musicians might be a coincidence and nothing more than that. Emma Chamberlain was previously in a 3-year-long relationship with Tucker Pillsbury, popularly known as Role Model, from 2020 to 2023. Since the end of this relationship, she has been rumoured to have linked up with musician, Peter McPoland, after they were seen together at events. Referring to her previous relationships, Emma stated: 

"The first time, that was random. It was random that he made music. Like that was irrelevant. Yeah. Like, I didn't care about that. The second time when I met the person, I didn't know that they made music, and I found out later after I met them... and I was like, 'Oh no, we're doing this again.”
