Emily 'Emiru' Schunk has lately been in the news, as she reportedly got assaulted by a man during the TwitchCon 2025 meet and greet session. It had taken place in San Diego when a male attendee, as per a Hindustan Times report, came, grabbed Emiru, whose real name is Emily, and attempted to kiss her. Emiru has 1.2 million Instagram followers and created her digital empire via gaming streams, on-screen presence.
Emiru Schunk's personal security shoved away the person who tried to assault her, and she accused Twitch of not giving the man's information to the police. Yet, behind Emiru's colourful wigs and aesthetic anime, she has had her share of breakups and controversies for living an online life. Emiru's relationships has often been widely discussed and has left her fans always curious.

Well, did you know that before Twitch became famous, Emiru Schunk, a gaming figure, was known for her long-term relationship with Marcus Dyrus Hill? For the unversed, Marcus was known for being a former League of Legends professional player. He and Emiru reportedly started dating back in 2016, and for four years, the ex-couple became fan favourites. In the streaming scene, Emiru Schunk and Marcus Dyrus Hill's relationship was widely discussed, and it was in 2020 that the pair broke up. An end of an era happened, and both of them reportedly broke up privately. Emily could not balance her relationship with the demanding nature of her job. However, Emily and Marcus maintained respect for one another and avoided any kind of public spat.

Emiru Schunk later joined One True King, which has been a Texas-based gaming organisation. She had confirmed being in a relationship with Matthew Mizkif Rinaudo, a fellow streamer and the co-founder of the gaming organisation. Emiru's personal life again gained the limelight after she decided to move in the OTK house. During that time, Matthew Mizkif Rinaudo had his breakup with another streamer called, Maya Higa.

At first, both Emiru and Mizkif had denied the rumours of being in a relationship. They shared a friendship and were also professional collaborators. However, it was in 2024 that Emiru confirmed being romantically inclined with Mizkif, and in 2025, she alleged that Mizkif emotionally manipulated her. He responded by calling their relationship toxic, and he also stepped down from OTK. Emiru's relationship with Mizkif became one of the most talked-about things in the streaming line. Discussions related to workplace ethics, setting boundaries, and the toll on one's emotional health due to content creation started happening. She avoided sensationalising the matter and wanted to focus on her work and also her mental fitness.

Emiru Schunk, earlier in an episode of Wine About It podcast, which was hosted by QTC Cindrella and Rachell Calkyrae, spoke on being cheated in her relationship. Emiru shared that her ex-partner a girl was cheating on her with a man and Emiru then stopped talking to the girl. Well, Emiru has not at all confirmed being in any relationship and has shared being single. She has been a regular streamer and has been known for discussing mental health, cosplay, and also gaming. It was a platonic relationship and Emiru addressed it as a funny story in the interview shared:
"There was a girl, she cheated on me with a guy that she had played Valorant with. But me and her are actually really, really good friends now, and have been for a while. We talk all the time. It's weird cuz I feel like usually... oh, yeah, I've had one girlfriend. Yeah, but me and her are actually, like, we didn't talk for like a year or two, and then we just kind of reconnected, and we're really good friends now. But it's completely platonic. It's not weird or anything."
