"I would bounce around, get into a lot of trouble, and I got suspended a bunch.  I had no respect for discipline or authority. It wasn’t until I met a guy named Jordan Chappelle, who’s an acting coach in LA, that I first realised that the director-actor relationship is something that I crave, can listen to, and that I see this environment as a safe space for me to explore the emotions that I used to get in trouble for without the repercussions and the shame and the guilt."

When she announced her split from Caspar in February 2024, Ellie shared that the former couple "remain the closest of friends" and were committed to "co-parenting with our son's best interests at heart."
