Ekta Kapoor Schools Chahat Pandey On The Meaning Of 'Equality', 'Aurat Or Mard Ka Problem Nahi...'

Recently, Salman Khan stepped back from his usual role as the host of Bigg Boss 18's Weekend Ka Vaar episodes as he was busy shooting for his film, Sikandar . In an exciting twist, his shoes will be filled by not one but two prominent guests this week. A promo uploaded by Colors TV revealed that producer, Ekta Kapoor and action director, Rohit Shetty will appear on the show this Friday and Saturday to school the contestants. One contestant with whom Ekta had an intense exchange was Chahat Pandey.

Ekta Kapoor schools Chahat Pandey on the difference between 'equality' and 'special treatment'

In a promo uploaded by Colors TV, Ekta Kapoor was seen teaching the Bigg Boss 18 housemates about the difference between 'equality' and 'special treatment.' In particular, the producer seemed to be talking to actress, Chahat Pandey, as she referenced the latter's fight with Avinash Mishra in an earlier episode.

Ekta said that she wanted to bring up a point that had been especially bothering her. She stated that a few female contestants on the show claimed that they should be respected just because they were women. Then speaking directly to Chahat, Ekta said:

“There is a difference between respect and special treatment. Special treatment is not equality. Equality means there is equality between you and me. If you throw water on someone then you will get an answer. Because he neither treats you below nor above, Chahat ji.”

Ekta Kapoor tells Chahat Pandey that she's not just a woman but also a ' khiladi '

Ekta Kapoor then scolded Chahat Pandey about always bringing the fact that she was a woman into her fights. The producer said that she was also a ' khiladi .' According to Ekta, taking or expecting any kind of 'special treatment' raised a question about the very equality for which women fought in the country every day.

Addressing Chahat directly, Ekta said that she cannot always turn things into a battle of man versus woman. Telling the actress that she needed to fight for herself, Ekta said:

“You cannot create a problem between men and women because if anyone answers you then you talk about all women except the women who are competing with you. But you must fight for yourself. You are a girl but you are also a contestant, you are also an individual, you are also a human being and also a player.”

Ekta Kapoor has some harsh words for Rajat Dalal and Vivian Dsena

However, Chahat Pandey wasn't the only contestant to get a harsh talking-to from Ekta Kapoor. The producer ripped into Vivian Dsena for his proud attitude at having been in the industry for ten years. With her signature bluntness, Ekta told him that being a senior actor didn't mean that everyone else needed to put him on a 'pedestal.'

Ekta also had some choice words for Rajat Dalal as she criticized him for trying to intimidate Avinash Mishra with his physical dominance. The producer gave the YouTuber a reality check and stated that puffing out his chest in front of someone younger than him didn't show off his power. Instead, it revealed the pressure he was feeling.

What do you think about Ekta Kapoor explaining the difference between 'equality' and 'special treatment' to Chahat Pandey?
