Television’s queen and one of the most successful producers, Ekta Kapoor has been raising the bar rather high for all her competitors. When she started her career at the mere age of 15 as an intern with ad and feature filmmaker Kailash Surendranath, little did she know that she would be making this big in the industry. It would not be wrong if we say that she has been reigning the Indian television ever since she started off with production.
It was in January 2019, when Ekta became a mother to a baby boy via IVF surrogacy. Ekta shares a very warm and close bond with her father, Jeetendra and so, she kept the baby’s name after her father Jeetendra’s name, Ravi Kapoor. And today, she is juggling happily between her personal and professional lives, striking a perfect balance! In an interview with The Times of India, Ekta shared that she takes Ravie along with her to the office and spends time with him. It is only when there is any problem that she has to go to the sets, otherwise her team is there to mange things. She was quoted as saying, "Being a working mother, one has to manage things." She even described Ravie's cute moments and said, "I checked his chart and got to know that he has a high temper. People think am short-tempered, but he is the one."
Speaking about the first time she found out she was going to be a mom, Ekta had told film critic, Anupama Chopra, “When I knew that the surrogate had conceived, and it was on June 7. On my birthday I got to know. I was a bit overwhelmed. I was like 'Okay this is happening. This is going to be a huge responsibility. I just wrote a show out which is going to be with an A-list Bollywood actress. It's called Mentalhood. It's about motherhood and every time we did the scripting about the Momzillas and the pressure you go through, the guilt you go through, tiger moms, helicopter moms, I was constantly feeling overwhelmed. But now I have realised that I have a lot of guilt even now.” (Checkout: Sharad Malhotra Shares How Ripci Malhotra Reacted To His Female Fans' Responses To Their Wedding)
The doting mommy had further gone on to add, “I think the first thing you think as a mother is guilt. I don't think anyone would say that so openly. I am at work, I am feeling guilty, when I am at home, there is a lot of guilt about not completing the things that I used to normally do. So, you are just dealing with various kinds of guilt. Then it's responsibility and third is a feeling that there's someone there that you want to see grow. It's a bit confusing at this moment. It has been 25 days as of now.” Sharing the support of the family for she is a single mom, she had retorted, “The baby is a joint venture. My family has been very supportive throughout, and my brother has also chipped in to share parenting duties.”

It was on January 31, 2019, that Ekta had announced the news of her son’s arrival putting a full stop to the then on-going speculations. She had written, “By God’s grace, I have seen many successes in my life, but nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul being added in my world. I cannot even begin to express how happy my baby’s birth has made me. Everything in life doesn’t go the way you want it to but there are always solutions to those hiccups. I found mine and today I feel immensely blessed to become a parent. It is an emotional moment for me, and my family and I can’t wait to begin this new journey of being a mother to my little bundle of joy, Ravie Kapoor.” (Also Read: Alaia Furniturewala's Unique Way To Reunite Mom Pooja Bedi And Her Father Kabir Bedi, Details Inside)
Earlier, in an interaction with a media portal, Ekta had expressed her desire to embrace motherhood. The producer-director was then quoted as saying, “I am a human being who recovered from a lot of pain last year because of my nephew. I had many professional ups and downs last year. Television did very well but films did not and that is very in your face because everyone knows it did not do well. So, it just hits you more. But my nephew would just suck out every bit of tension from me. People, when they used to talk about their children, their eyes would light up. And he is not even my own child, he is my nephew, but it is magical. A magic happens when a child comes to a house and as a kid grows, you grow with them and the small things become the big things.”
In the same interview, she had also revealed, “My parents want me to but I don’t know if I am ready. I am too busy. So, I have huge respect for women who manage both the home and their work. It’s superb multi-tasking, kudos to them. At this present moment, I have to take out time for a work-out. At 1’o clock, I am going for a walk. I need to plan my life first before I plan a child.” (Don't Miss: Ishaan's Comment On Priyanka's Cannes Picture Proves He Shares Friendly Bond With Shahid's Ex)
On being asked if she is tying the knot soon and planning a baby anytime soon, she had remarked, “All my friends, who were married are now unmarried. With the amount of divorces, I have seen recently, I think I am the more patient one. At least, I waited for it. I definitely know one thing, that I want a child but marriage, I don’t know. I don’t have time for myself, if I get a couple of hours, I would like to go to a spa. I look forward to a one-day vacation with friends. I love my work, so I don’t crib. People tell me give it up if you have such a problem with it. I won’t, I would get so bored. I’d rather be busy than bored.”
Kudos to you, Ekta! Here’s wishing all the happiness to you and your little bundle of joy!
