Dushara Vijayan, is one of the most favourite actresses in the Tamil industry. She won hearts with her presence in the sports drama, Sarpatta Parambarai. But do you know Dushara, the female lead of the Tamil movie, Veera Dheera Sooran, once revealed that she wants to quit acting when she attains the age of 35. Dushara began her career as a model, when she was a student at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
Later in 2016, Dushara became a professional model and actor. Dushara Vijayan made her debut with the film, Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari, at the age of 22. Now, in Veera Dheera Sooran, she is seen opposite Chiyaan Vikram. Read on to know what made the actress think about quitting films at the mere age of 35.
During a promotion for her film, Raayan, Dushara Vijaya once dropped a bomb stating that she wanted to quit acting after she turned 35. She also explained why she made this decision. For the uninitiated, Dushara loves to travel a lot. If you ever come across the young actress’ Instagram handle, you will see pictures from her travel diaries. In Raayan’s promotion, Dushara shared that she wanted to focus entirely on travelling. Speaking of the same, the actress said:
“I will quit cinema when I turn 35 and after that, I will go to see places in the world.”
In Veera Dheera Sooran, Dushara Vijayan is seen playing the wife of 'Kaali', a character played by Vikram. Dushara's character name is 'Kalaivaani'. The actress also penned down a note expressing gratitude to every cast and crew of the film. She also shared her experience working with Vikram. She was quoted as saying:
“The journey of Kalaivani from day one till now has been incredibly special—it’s etched in my heart forever. I’m forever grateful to the brilliant Arunkumar sir for giving me this amazing opportunity. And of course, sharing the screen with the one and only Chiyaan Vikram sir, was an absolute joy! The Kaali I know? Definitely not as serious as you’d think. Your energy, dedication, and sheer brilliance on set were truly inspiring!”
Born on October 14, 1997 in Dingidul, Tamil Nadu, Dushara made her debut with the Tamil film, Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari, directed by Chandru KR. Before joining the fashion design course in National Institute of Fashion Technology, Dushara was an engineering student. In 2021, the actress made her breakthrough with Santhosh Narayanan’s sports drama, Sarpatta Parambhai.

Dushara appeared opposite Indian actor, Dhanush in the film, Rayaan in 2024. Dushara also shared screen with legendary actor, Rajnikanth in the film, Vettaiyan. It was a fan girl moment for the actress to appear on a same screen with Rajnikanth. She took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture with the veteran actor, Rajnikanth. She also penned down a heartfelt note, Dushara wrote:
“To imagine that I would work with The Superstar, our Thalaivar someday was not even a part of the plan. My First day, First shot was with Thalaivar and everything about it was surreal. To see a caravan placed next to his with my name on it, To sit right next to him, To act in the same frame as him, his aura, his energy, his presence everything was just magical. My earliest memory as a Thalaivar fan was to wait to come home post school and watch Thalaivar’s movie, From that to this, where I get to work with him for a film, My godddddd I feel reallyy blessed.”
