Dulquer Salmaan's Love Story With Wife, Amal, Met At School, Drove Her To Pondicherry On First Date

Dulquer Salmaan, the heartthrob of Malayalam cinema, needs no introduction as the handsome hunk is the crush of every female. Veteran Malayalam actor, Mammootty’s son, Dulquer, has been often hailed as the youth icon. Dulquer made his acting debut in 2012 with the film Second Show, and since then, there has been no looking back for him.

Dulquer Salmaan was five years senior to Amal Sufiya in school

Not many people know that Dulquer Salmaan had a love cum arranged marriage. The actor met Amal in school, where she was five years his junior. He never had any romantic feelings for her in school. However, when he returned from the US after completing his studies, he felt societal pressure to get married.

Dulquer Salmaan coincidentally kept running into Amal

While there were many proposals for him, his friends suggested Amal’s name as a potential good match. On the other hand, Dulquer kept bumping into her at various places when he was in Chennai. Dulquer Salmaan recalled when his family members discussed him getting married at a certain age. The actor mentioned that he was against the idea of an arranged marriage as he could never “accept or reject” anyone. 

Finally, he decided to approach Amal through Facebook. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Dulquer revealed how he convinced his parents for an alliance with Amal and said:

“Random places like at the movies, or at the salon, and I was like maybe this is a sign. So I reached out to her on Facebook or something..I (told them) look, there’s this girl from my school. I think that’s a possible alliance but I want to first meet her and see if there’s something there. I told her also tell your parents. We’ll officially meet for a coffee. There’s nothing there. We’ll just be school mates who met for a cup of coffee."

Dulquer Salmaan drove Amal Sufiya from Chennai to Pondicherry on their first date

Dulquer Salmaan is a romantic at heart, and the same was proved when he went on his first date with Amal. The duo was smitten by each other that on their first date, the actor drove Amal from Chennai to Pondicherry, covering the distance in just an hour and a half. The two spent four hours speaking and getting to know each other, and then drove back.

Dulquer Salmaan confessed to never falling in love with anyone before meeting Amal Sufiya

Dulquer Salmaan and Amal Sufiya got married on December 22, 2011, in Chennai. The Charlie actor always stated that he considered himself lucky to be married to the most beautiful girl. Dulquer also confesses to never falling for anyone before meeting Amal. Dulquer, who is every woman’s dream, considers his wife as his lucky charm. The couple became proud parents and welcomed their little princess, Maryam Ameerah Salmaan, on April 5, 2017.
