Draymond Green has a son from his past relationship with Jelissa Hardy

Although Draymond Green is now married to Hazel Renee, he was previously in a relationship with Jelissa Hardy. The duo’s love story dates back to 2007 when they were students at Michigan State University. They started dating at that time and later had a son named Draymond Jamal “D.J.” Green Jr., in 2016. The pair reportedly split in 2017, and an insider alleged that Green’s growing fame was the reason behind the separation. 

For the unversed, Jelissa Hardy pursued a career as a model and worked for Model Mayhem in 2009. Her profile on the page stated that she was an “easy going person” and a reliable individual at the same time. Jelissa reportedly had another child, named Kyla Dior, from a previous relationship at the age of 20. Although she has maintained a distance from the spotlight, Jelissa’s family members include a sister named Nicquel Terry. Hardy grew up in Saginaw. 

Jelissa enrolled at the College of Arts and Letters, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English. She was also employed at a Best Buy in Michigan before joining college. Moreover, she used to play basketball in high school until she discontinued it due to an injury. Jelissa and Draymond were also spotted together on a few occasions over the years, including the NBA D-League game in 2015. The duo was reportedly accompanied by Steph Curry and his wife, Ayesha, on the occasion.

Draymond Green and Hazel Renee have been married since 2022

Although Draymond Green and Jelissa Hardy maintained privacy in terms of their relationship, the same thing has not been witnessed for Draymond and his wife, Hazel Renee. Hazel was also a student of Michigan State University, and this is where she met Draymond for the first time. Back in 2022, Renee recalled in an interview with Essence that she and Draymond were in the same theater class. Renee stated that they collaborated with each other a lot of times, which eventually developed an attraction between them.

The romance was seemingly confirmed by Draymond Green in 2018 when he shared a video. Renee also told Essence that when she and Draymond met after many years, they spent some time together and had a lot of conversations. In 2019, Hazel announced through Instagram that she and Draymond were engaged. The post featured a video where Green prepared the proposal. Hazel wrote in the caption that she felt like she was the luckiest girl in the world. 

The duo has been the parents of two children, with their first child born in 2020, followed by another in 2023. The pair exchanged vows in San Diego in 2022, a year before their second child was born. The wedding was also attended by their children. Draymond and Hazel’s kids have frequently accompanied them on various occasions. Furthermore, Draymond is also the stepfather of a daughter named Olive, born from Hazel’s past relationship with Jacob Pullen.
