DJ Aqeel, born as Aqeel Ali is a famous Indian DJ and music composer. It was in the 2000s when he grabbed a lot of attention with his remix album, Shake it Daddy Mix, which contributed to the immense fame of Bollywood remixes. DJ Aqeel also performed at the weddings of some high-profile celebrities such as Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan, Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant, among others.
While everyone is quite familiar with DJ Aqeel's professional front, very few people know about his personal life. For the unversed, he was married to Sussanne Khan's sister, Farah Khan Ali, and they are parents to two kids. After several years of marital bliss, the couple parted ways. Well, today we will look closely into DJ Aqeel's ex-wife, Farah Khan Ali's life.
Farah Khan Ali was born in December 1969 to Indian actor and director, Sanjay Khan, and his wife, Zarine Katrak. Farah is the sister of Hrithik Roshan's ex-wife, Sussanne Khan. Talking about her education, she holds a graduation degree in History and Economics from Sophia College. Apart from that, she also is a graduate gemologist from The Gemological Institute of America. Well, Farah tried her hand in several fields, and her career took a U-turn when she pursued a course in jewellery design from the US.
Talking about Farah Khan Ali's career, she worked in television advertisements and even produced two TV series, Jai Mahabharat and Jannat. She also started working in her mom's design firm. When she was only 22 years old, she took up a course in jewellery design in Los Angeles, but it turned out to be a scientific and mathematical program. Farah, with a determination to make her parents proud, worked hard throughout the program and ended up topping the course, which led her to find her true calling, which is to 'live to design.'
After she came back to India back in 1993, she started working towards her goal to establish her brand. Clearly, it was not an easy of a task and Farah had to give her all to it. She first started designing bespoke jewellery for her clients, and earned trust with her hard work, which amalgamated with her top-notch creativity. It was back in 2004, when she officially launched the brand, FARAH KHAN, with a jewellery retailer.

Over the years, several setbacks occurred, but Farah's hard work and dedication compelled her to come back stronger every time. Her first partnership lasted for two years, and she started sticking her brand with several retailers, who would sell her jewellery pieces under her brand's name. This too, lasted for a few years till 2012, and finally, in 2014, a breakthrough came in when Farah Khan co-branded with Tanishq and sold her 40 stores across 23 cities from 2014 to 2016. In 2018, Farah Khan's brand ventured into the Lifestyle segment.
In her personal life, Farah Khan Ali got married to DJ Aqeel back on February 20, 1999. The couple is parents to two kids, Azaan and Fizaa. It was after nine long years in their relationship, that they decided to part ways. Taking to her IG handle, Farah announced her separation from DJ Aqeel and revealed that they had mutually decided to part ways, and it often happens that two people outgrow each other. In her note, she shared that their relationship with each other shifted to friendship from being a couple, and nothing changed. She further added that they would continue to co-parent their kids. For the unversed, the couple separated in 2021, and they were divorced in 2023. An excerpt from her note could be read as:
"Sometimes two people grow apart. Sometimes they outgrow each other. It has been 9 years since my relationship with my husband Aqeel changed its status as a couple to just friends and to term it simply would be to state that we are Happily Separated."
