The year 2020 will always be marked in people’s mind as one of the darkest years, not only because of the global pandemic, but the number of sad news we are surrounded with. The glamour world is also undergoing a similar situation as we have lost some of our rarest gems. With the sudden deaths of our favourite celebs to some of them being critically ill, 2020 will always be remembered for its uncertainties. Now, adding to the list of bad news, actress Divya Bhatnagar of Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame is fighting for her life as she is on ventilator. Divya Bhatnagar, who played the role of 'Gulabo' in the serial, Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai had also featured in shows like Udaan, Jeet Gayi Toh Piyaa Morre, Vish and many more. She had tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend, Gagan in a Gurudwara wedding on December 22, 2019. The actress is currently critical as she tested positive for COVID-19.
Divya’s mother, who travelled from Delhi to Goregaon, Mumbai, where she is admitted, revealed details of her daughter’s condition in an interview with ETimes. Stating how Divya’s condition is critical as her oxygen level dropped to 71, her mother stated, “Divya had temperature since the last six days. She was feeling very uneasy. I came down from Delhi and got an oximeter home. We checked her oxygen levels, they had dropped to 71. She is on a ventilator now, her oxygen level is about 84, and her condition is critical. The reports have just come and she has tested positive for COVID.”
When enquired about Divya’s husband, Gagan, Mrs. Bhatnagar shared how he had duped her and called him a ‘fraud’. Revealing details on how Gagan didn’t even bother to be with Divya, she shared, “Whatever anyone may tell you, the time has come to spill the truth. Her husband was a fraud. He has left her and is not bothered to even come forward for a while. She married without informing us. I am aghast that post marriage she has been living in a very small place in Oshiwara. She was living in a big house at Mira Road earlier. She has undergone a lot in the recent past." Gagan works for a production house and also handles artist management. On December 23, 2019, Divya had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared the good news of her marriage with her fans by posting a picture from their wedding and had written, “WE DID.” Dressed in a baby pink-coloured sharara, Divya had looked beautiful as she had posed with Gagan.

Divya Bhatnagar and Gagan’s families hadn’t attended the wedding as they were against their relationship as it was an inter-caste relationship. Talking about the same, Divya had revealed in an interview with The Times of India that Gagan and she had faced a lot of hurdles as their families did not approve of their relationship. She had also added that every time they had thought of tying the knot, they would face a new obstacle. The duo had gotten engaged in 2015, without their families' presence.
