Divyanka Tripathi Recalls Being Scammed By A CA And Losing Lakhs, 'He Had Me Sign 4 Cheques..'

Divyanka Tripathi is one of the most talented actresses in the television world, whose marvellous acting skills captivated the hearts of her massive fanbase. The actress started her career as an anchor on All India Radio. After the same, she made her debut in the acting world with a telefilm for Doordarshan. Recently, the actress sat for an interview and recalled how she was scammed by a CA and lost lakhs.

Divyanka Tripathi recently sat for an interview with Pinkvilla's Hindi Rush, wherein she revealed how she was scammed by a CA. The actress said that back then she used to work for 20-24 hours, and thus, she didn't have time to run an inquiry check on the CA she hired to manage her fiance. She shared that the CA used to handle several actors' accounts on her set for two years. Well, Divyanka trusted him. In Divyanka's words:

"There was a CA who handled the accounts of our set and many actors, including mine, very well for two years. Because I used to work for 20-24 hours a day, I didn’t have the time to look for another CA or do proper inquiries. He came from another town and seemed trustworthy."

The actress stated that her CA asked her why she didn't spend much money and asked her to sign 4 cheques. Divyanka, thinking that the bank's name was genuine, and the person, followed what he said, and in the process, she got scammed. The actress can be quoted as saying:

"He told me, ‘Madam, you are not spending, so what will happen to your tax?’ He had me sign four cheques in the name of a bank. The bank’s name seemed genuine. He even made me fill out forms with my name on top and the bank’s name, promising to handle the rest."

Going forward in the interview, Divyanka shared that her trusting the CA became harmful, as after she signed the cheques, he filled the forms fraudulently and disappeared with a hefty sum of money.

In the same interview, Divyanka Tripathi shared that her first TV show was traumatic for her, and she went through depression without even knowing the same, as back then, this concept was not very familiar. Divyanka shared that she always believed that ignorance is bliss, and thus, without putting much into it, she just came out. But when Divyanka would hang out with her friends, and they would take some certain person's name, the actress would end up crying, and that's how she got to know the effect of the show on her mental health. Divyanka revealed:

"But woh mera ek phase tha jab meri aur doston ke saath mein baatein hoti thi ek kamre mein aur jaise hi woh ek do logon ke naam nikalte the, rona shuru ho jaati thi."

Divyanka Tripathi started dating her Banoo Main Teri Dulhann co-star, Sharad Malhotra. The ex-couple had been in a relationship for a long time, but they broke up in 2015. The actress had to go through her share of pain caused by her breakup, and she talked about the same as well. After a year, Divyanka met the man of her dreams, Vivek Dahiya, who is also her co-star of Ye Hai Mohabbatein. The couple got engaged in 2016, and in the same year, they got married.
