Dipika Kakar Diagnosed With 'Tennis Ball-Sized' Liver Tumour, Husband Shoaib Seeks Prayers From Fans

Popular television and YouTube couple, Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim, are going through a difficult phase regarding a health emergency. In a heartfelt vlog, Shoaib opened up about his wife, Dipika’s health crisis, revealing that the Sasural Simar Ka actress has been diagnosed with a large tumour in her liver. While the nature of the tumour is still under investigation, the couple is preparing for surgery and hoping for the best.

Shoaib Ibrahim shares emotional update on Dipika Kakar’s health

Dipika and Shoaib, known for their active social media presence, often offer fans a candid look into their everyday lives. In his latest YouTube vlog, a visibly tense and dishevelled Shoaib shared a heartbreaking update that Dipika has been diagnosed with a tumour. He revealed that Dipika began experiencing stomach pain while he was away, and she self-medicated, dismissing it as acidity, but when the pain persisted, she consulted their trusted family doctor for further evaluation. He shared:

“Dipika theek nahi hai, thoda sa usko stomach mein issue hai, jo serious hai. When I was in Chandigarh, Dipika started having pain in her stomach, and initially, we thought it was due to acidity, and she treated it, thinking it was an acidity-related issue. But when the pain did not go away, we consulted our family doctor… He gave her some antibiotics and asked her to get blood tests done… When I returned, she was doing fine.”

Dipika was prescribed antibiotics and asked to undergo blood tests. The pain temporarily subsided, but shortly after celebrating her father-in-law’s birthday, the symptoms returned, and test results revealed an underlying infection. Further medical scans were done, and that’s when the shocking discovery was made. After doing a CT scan, they found a considerably large tumour in the left lobe of her liver, almost as big as a tennis ball. Sharing the shocking news, Shoaib said:

“After Papa’s birthday, she once again started experiencing pain, and meanwhile, the blood test reports came, which indicated that she had an infection in her body. Our doctor asked us to visit again, and when we met him, he asked us to do a CT scan, and it showed that Dipika has a tumour in the left lobe of her liver. It is bigger in size, like a tennis ball. It was very shocking for us.”

After finding out about the tumour, the couple was concerned about the possibility of cancer and got some additional tests done. As of now, initial results have shown no signs of malignancy, but they are still awaiting a few crucial reports for confirmation.

Dipika Kakar has a surgery ahead

Dipika was admitted to Advanced Hospital, where she underwent multiple tests to determine the nature of the tumour. Recently, Shoaib brought her back home, believing she would recover better in a peaceful, familiar setting. In his vlog, he revealed they have a scheduled consultation with a liver specialist at Kokilaben Hospital to discuss the next steps, but at this point, surgery is unavoidable. In his words:

“Thankfully, none of the results so far have shown any signs of cancer… But haan, Dipika ke liver mein tumour hai, she will undergo surgery… Please pray for her health, leaving aside all the negativity and hate.”

This isn’t the first time Dipika has had to step back due to health issues. A few months ago, the actress had to exit Celebrity MasterChef India midway due to a severe shoulder injury. Now with this new challenge, the couple is focusing entirely on her treatment and recovery.
