Meet Dipika Kakar, Highest Paid TV Actress, Converted To Islam, Quit Acting, Diagnosed With Tumour

Dipika is currently garnering the headlines after the actress was diagnosed with a tumour in her liver. Her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, posted a vlog and talked about the actress’s health crisis.  In his vlog, Shoaib shared that Dipika started having pain in her stomach, which subsided after she took antibiotics. After doing a CT scan, they found a considerably large tumour in the left lobe of her liver, almost as big as a tennis ball.

Dipika Kakar was the highest-paid actress on television

After completing her education, Dipika Kakar worked as a flight attendant for three years. In 2010, she made her television debut with the show, Neer Bhare Tere Naina. She then appeared in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. However, it was her role as ‘Simar’ in Sasural Simar Ka, which got her immense fame and recognition.

She played the lead role in Sasural Simar Ka for six years and became the most sought-after actress in the telly world. Dipika reportedly charged Rs 70,000 per episode and became the highest-paid actress in the television industry.

Dipika Kakar fell in love with Shoaib Ibrahim after her broken marriage

In 2011, Dipika Kakar married Raunak Samson, however, the marriage didn’t last long and the duo got divorced in 2015. During the making of Sasural Simar Ka, Dipika met Shoaib Ibrahim and on-screen chemistry left everyone in awe. Shoaib supported Dipika during her divorce, and they became good friends.

Dipika Kakar converted to Islam and changed her name to Faiza to marry Shoaib Ibrahim

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim’s friendship soon turned into love and the duo decided to begin their forever journey. In 2018, Shoaib and Dipika tied the knot in a nikah ceremony. First, they had planned to have a huge wedding, but later, they shifted their plans to have an intimate soiree. For her inter-faith marriage, Dipika converted to Islam and changed her name to Faiza.

Dipika Kakar suffered a miscarriage before becoming a mother

Dipika and Shoaib announced their pregnancy in 2023, although there were many rumours about the couple’s pregnancy. During that time, the couple took to their vlog and revealed the reason behind hiding the news of their pregnancy and revealed that Dipika suffered a miscarriage in 2022. Shoaib revealed that Dipika was six weeks pregnant when she suffered the loss, and it took a toll on her. In June 2023, the couple welcomed their baby boy, whom they named Ruhaan.

Dipika Kakar left her flourishing career for her family

In 2019, Dipika starred in the show Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, but the show didn’t last too long, and Dipika, too, started disappearing from the screen. Dipika left her career after the birth of her son, Ruhaan and decided to give her full attention to him. The actress participated in MasterChef India but left the show midway due to a shoulder injury.

Dipika Kakar was one of the highest-paid telly actresses from 2011 to 2018. As per multiple reports, the actress’s net worth was Rs. 40 – Rs. 45 crores.
