Dipika Kakar Reflects On Her Battle With Cancer, Reveals 22 Per Cent Of Her Liver Was Removed

Dipika Kakar is a well-known television actress. She has built a significant name for herself despite being away from her acting career for a long time. The actress attempted to make a comeback with Celebrity MasterChef. However, had to quit the show due to medical reasons. Her declining health left the fans concerned, and it was soon after that Dipika shared heartbreaking news about her cancer diagnosis with the fans. Now, in a candid conversation on the LOL podcast, the actress has reflected on her health.

Dipika Kakar opened up about her surgery

Dipika Kakar recently spoke about battling liver cancer. The actress made an appearance on the LOL podcast with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, where she revealed that 22 per cent of her liver was removed via surgery after her cancer diagnosis. The Sasural Simar Ka fame shared that she recently had a scan done and now they are waiting for the results of the same, to find out whether she is cancer-free or not.

Apart from the medical procedures, Dipika Kakar also reflected on the treatment she is undergoing for the cancer. The actress also revealed that the entire journey has taken an emotional toll on her and her loved ones. While in conversation with Bharti Singh and her husband, Haarsh, Dipika claimed that nearly 11 centimeters of tumor was removed from her body, which is about 22 percent of her liver. The actress further added:

"In the first week of November, I’ll be undergoing my FAPI scan again. A FAPI scan is similar to a CT scan, but it’s specifically used to detect cancer cells in the body. It helps doctors understand how far the cancer may have spread before starting surgery or treatment."

Dipika Kakar reveals that her cancer had not spread

In the same conversation, Dipika Kakar mentioned that the good news was that her scans showed that the cancer was confined only to the tumor. While the journey had been difficult, the actress shared that the fact that it had not spread to other parts of her body was a silver lining. The cancerous part was removed along with the liver, which was cut down from her body. Dipika further added that her doctors were stunned by the reports, considering her healthy lifestyle. She said that doctors told her they had no answer about how she got cancer.

A news like cancer can shake up the strongest couples. However, Dipika Kakar revealed that her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, had been her rock through it all. She shared how he always holds her hand during tests and has been by her side through it all. She was quoted as saying:

"Mera koi test nahi ho sakta without Shoaib. It’s only possible when he is with me. Shoaib always holds my hand or touches my feet during any test."

During a recent question-and-answer session, Shoaib Ibrahim shared an update about Dipika’s health with the fans. He revealed that the actress went for a blood test on November 4, 2025. Sharing what was going on, Shoaib stated:

"We went to the hospital to give blood samples just yesterday (November 4). Initially, we had to go after three months (following the surgery earlier this year), and after that, we were told to come after two months. Now, the reports will come tomorrow."
