Dining With The Kapoors Review, Family Reunion Wrapped With Nostalgia, Heartfelt Tribute And Food

Ever since the first teaser of Dining With The Kapoors was revealed, movie fanatics have been eagerly waiting for the docu-series. Directed by Smriti Mundhra, the show is currently streaming on Netflix and features the younger and older generations of the Kapoor family. The 61-minute-long documentary features Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Agastya Nanda, Armaan Jain, Aadar Jain and many others.

Shot around Raj Kapoor’s 100th birth anniversary in December 2024, the documentary is a tribute to the man who was not just a poignant face of Indian cinema, but a visionary and a guide to his family. The show is an anecdote to him with his children and grandchildren discussing his legacy. It is a tribute by the Kapoor clan to the cinematic genius and the man who changed many lives.

As the stories circle the dining table, we see a never-before-seen side of the celebs, being themselves in the presence of their clan. It is Armaan Jain, son of Rima Jain, who takes the lead in bringing everyone under one roof. If you are binge-watching the show for any celebrity gossip, you will be disappointed. Apart from filmmaking, the Kapoors are very serious about food, and the show will showcase the family's traditional food habits that have stitched them together. During one of the segments, Aadar Jain spoke about the entire family and expressed his admiration for his first cousin, Ranbir Kapoor. He then stated that Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor were the biggest gossip mongers and detectives in the family. To this, Rima Jain also shared that Raj Kapoor was the same and that he was getting all the news in his cottage. Listening to them, Ranbir took a stand and said:

“We’re like Google. We have the information, but unless you guys won’t search for it, you won’t know!”
