Dimple Kapadia is one of the most versatile and talented actresses in Bollywood. The actress married Rajesh Khanna in 1973, and the couple had two daughters, Twinkle and Rinke Khanna. However, they separated in 1982 and continued to co-parent their daughters. Twinkle Khanna is happily married to actor, Akshay Kumar for more than 20 years now. However, Dimple Kapadia had once shared that she was hesitant over her daughter, Twinkle Khanna's decision to marry Akshay Kumar.
Dimple Kapadia had attended an event in FICCI FLO Jaipur and shared that she was hesitant about Twinkle Khanna's decision to marry Akshay Kumar. She didn't reveal the exact details. However, she had reservations about whether their relationship would last. However, Dimple Kapadia was glad that Twinkle went ahead with her decision and married Akshay. She was quoted as saying:

"Earlier on, I had my reservations about my daughter getting married to him. Thank God she did. He is what any aspiring actor would want to be as far as discipline is concerned. He is an amazing man."

Dimple added that she admires Akshay Kumar's kind nature. She said the Sarfira actor is naughty and often makes her join his antics. In her words:
"I see him interacting with a lot of people and he derives so much joy in just sitting and playing basketball or cards with you. He can just sit down and chat with you and make you feel so good. He is naughty to the hilt and he finds me to do these things on."
In the same conversation, Dimple Kapadia shared an incident when Akshay Kumar organised her 50th birthday party. She described that once, Akshay informed her that he had to go to Delhi to meet Mrs Sonia. However, he didn't want to go alone and asked her to accompany him. When he came to pick her up, he forgot his wallet and took Dimple home. When she entered the house, she discovered he had organised a 50th birthday party for her.
