Diljit Dosanjh Honours Maharaja Bhupinder Singh At MET Gala 2025 In Royal Ivory Sherwani, Necklace

Punjabi superstar, Diljit Dosanjh, who is on a spree to win over the West, has added another significant milestone in his career. After making the world dance to his music at Coachella and appearing at significant talk shows, Diljit has stepped on the red carpet of Met Gala 2025, and India couldn't be more proud of him. Known for his powerful voice, fun personality, impressive acting skills and magnetic screen presence, Diljit has once again honoured his Punjabi Pride.

Diljit Dosanjh exudes royalty in a custom Prabal Gurung ensemble

Diljit Dosanjh made his high-awaited Met Gala debut in a regal look by Nepalese-American designer, Prabal Gurung. Paying tribute to Patiala's Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, Diljit wore a majestic ivory sherwani-inspired suit. He matched it with a cape featuring an intricate golden embroidery of Punjab's map and all the Punjabi (Gurmukhi) alphabets over it. Rounding off things with a turban or pag, the icon of Punjab looked like a Sikh maharaja. 

In terms of accessories, Diljit wore layers of pearl and emerald necklace. He also included a few heavily embellished rings and brooches, which added a touch of sparkle to the overall look and enhanced his aura. It's important to note that each of these pieces has its regal story, which will unfold in a few hours. 

Diljit Dosanjh wears Punjab's heritage at Met Gala 2025

One of the most significant aspects of Diljit's look was his legendary Patiala necklace, originally crafted by Cartier in 1928 for Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. For those unaware, it's one of the most expensive pieces of jewellery ever made using thousands of diamonds given by the Maharaja. The striking element of the necklace was its famous 234-carat De Beers yellow diamond. 

It is a special element in the look because the necklace from Maharaja's collection belongs to Cartier. Emma Chamberlain famously wore a part of the necklace at the Met Gala 2022. However, Diljit wearing the same felt like home. At the same time, he will make history by sitting at the table with Prabal and global stars like Shakira and Nicole Scherzinger.
