Karan Johar is one of the most well-known filmmakers in the Hindi film industry. He also owns a production company named Dharma Productions, which has made several iconic films over the years, like Agneepath, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Student Of The Year, and more. Since the last few years, the filmmaker has found himself at the center of criticism as other artists often accuse him for his decision to launch star kids in Bollywood. In a recent move, Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner, Elvish Yadav joined the list as he seemingly took a dig at Karan.
After being constantly under scrutiny for giving opportunities to star kids, Karan has often hit back at the critics. Recently, after Elvish took a dig at the filmmaker, he shared a cryptic note on 'kindness' that many fans believe was addressed to Elvish. Karan's note on his Instagram story read:
"Kindness was once a virtue. Now, it's a limited edition emotion. It's never in stock, and there are way too many replicas."
Interestingly, the filmmaker recently announced the debut film of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's son, Ibrahim Ali Khan with Sridevi's daughter, Khushi Kapoor titled Nadaniyaan. It has reignited the nepotism debate among netizens. Later, again without naming anyone, Karan shared another story that read:
"Bollywood songs are sooo meaningful. "Dafli wale dafli baja," Which literally means Mind your own business.!!"
Ankita Lokhande and her husband, Vicky Jain, were the recent guests on Elvish Yadav’s podcast, Phodcast. Among other conversations, Elvish asked the Manikarnika actress if groupism exists in the Hindi film industry and whether it affected her. In her reply, Ankita explained that people are not directly biased towards anyone. However, they prefer working with those inside their circle, hinting at 'groupism.' Hearing her reply, Elvish quickly interrupted and sarcastically mentioned the filmmaker's name, saying:
“Karan Johar ko aisa mat bolo.”
But, as soon as Elvish brought Karan into the conversation, Ankita highlighted that it's not about him in particular. Rather, everyone has different industry groups. Her husband, Vicky, agreed to it and noted that since people work with those they already know, they don't give opportunities to outsiders.
