Dia became an overnight sensation with her debut film, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. Later, she went on to prove her mettle in acting by working in popular films like Salam Mumbai, Sanju, Bheed, Thappad, Dum, Dhak Dhak and more. Talking about her personal life, Dia married twice. After getting divorced from her first husband, Sahil Sangha in 2019, she tied the knot to Vaibhav Rekhi. However, the highlight of her second wedding was the presence of a female priest. And now, Dia opened up about the same.

In a candid conversation with Pinkvilla, Dia Mirza opened up about the presence of the female priest at her second marriage with Vaibhav Rekhi. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that when she saw Sheela Atta performing at the wedding of one of her friends, she was deeply moved by it. Dia added that her friend's wedding was like a spiritual awakening for her as the presence of the female priest made her feel connected to spirituality. In her words:

"Honestly for me it was, I was at a friend's wedding and I saw this lady (Sheela Atta) perform that wedding and I was so deeply moved by it and I couldn't remember the last time I felt so emersed, so involved, and so spiritually connected to the ceremony. And, I was like I have to call her. Sheela Atta is so special that we wanted her to be there for us. She was very generous and kind and she came."

Further, in the same conversation, Dia stated that after her wedding, she realised how uncommon this profession is for women to follow. The actress mentioned that women are not considered to be fit for the profession of priest because of the cultural and caste system of the society. Elaborating more about it, Dia said:

"It's only when we did the wedding that we realised what a rarity it is that is so uncommon, that profession is not perceived to be one that woman can follow. Again it's the outcome of the caste system, it's a cultural system and patriarchy.

In the same interview, Dia said that after her wedding, people recognised the fact that a female priest could also perform the wedding. Mentioning that it is beautiful to have female priests at the wedding, Dia said that one got a lot of shakti when someone who is deeply connected to spirituality performed the rituals. In her words:

"But I'm so glad that people recognise how powerful, how beautiful, and how much shakti you can experience when somebody is so spiritually aligned with what is being done. No profession should have gender. Everyone should be able to do every single job."

When Dia opened up about learning bike riding post giving birth to her son, Avyaan

Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Dia opened up about her film, Dhak Dhak and revealed that she learned bike riding months after giving birth to her son, Avyaan. In her words:

"I had just given birth to my child. He was less than a year old when we were shooting for this film. I can’t tell you at how many levels this film has spoken to me."

For her intimate wedding, Dia opted for a red Banarasi saree by Raw Mango. She styled her saree with a choker set, jhumki, maang teeka, green Maharashtrian bangles and gajra. On the other hand, Vaibhav looked handsome in a white kurta-pyjama, along with a matching Nehru jacket.
