The nation is mourning the lives that were lost during the terror attack in the valley of Kashmir. The Pahalgam attack raised a lot of questions on safety and India's relationship with the neighbouring country. The way terrorists singled out Hindus, and asked tourists' religion before shooting them has left everyone in shock. Following this, the murmurs of Pakistani actors' return to Bollywood again became a topic of discussion. Now, Dia Mirza, who had been receiving backlash for supporting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan's return, revealed the truth behind it.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Dia Mirza clarified that her statement supporting Fawad Khan's return to Bollywood was made before the terror attack. She was asked about the same during the promotions of her film, and her statement being used amidst the terror attack is misleading. She wrote:
"To Members of the Media, STOP misrepresentation of facts. I did an interview for a film of mine on the 10th of April, in which I gave a quote, long before this horrific terror attack. Stop circulating my quotes NOW, weeks after and out of context. This is unethical and deeply offensive."
For those who don't know, during the promotional interview, Dia was asked about Fawad's return to Bollywood. She stated that it was good Fawad is back in Bollywood, and she hoped that it leads to more opportunities for other collaborations. She said:

We should never, ever allow art and sport to be tangled or mixed with hate. It’s just good that Fawad is back in the film—you know that we will be watching soon. I hope this leads to many more such opportunities for other collaborations."
On April 22, 2025, another attack on humanity shook the world when a group of three people dressed up as army officers' clothing opened fire in Pahalgam. According to reports, 26 civilians were killed in the attack, and several others were injured. The survivors and eyewitnesses revealed that the terrorists questioned civilian religion before shooting them with their rifles.
Now, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees issued demands to ban Fawad Khan's film's release, and they re-imposed ban of Pakistani actors working in India. Following the Pahalgam attack, FWICE announced:
