The British royal family gathered for the annual Commonwealth Day ceremony almost two weeks ago. The event was attended by King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Westminster Abbey. However, it was the tune that was played upon their arrival that caught our attention.

Upon King Charles and Queen Camila's arrival at Westminster Abbey, they were welcomed by the distinctive tune of the 2004 hit Bollywood number, Dhoom Machale. The Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band, a Hindu Scottish pipe band, gave the performance. The group chose the iconic upbeat song to greet the King and Queen of England, which has left the desi viewers in splits.

While the moment went unnoticed when it first happened, the viewers caught the tune when the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band shared a video of the Dhoom Machale performance on Instagram on March 26, 2025, where it has since gone viral. Desi viewers who saw the video were left in splits at the cross-cultural nature of the moment, with some doubting the authenticity of the video.

While some viewers asked if the video was real, BBC, which actually covered the Commonwealth Day ceremony, also included the moment. The channel showed the segment when King Charles and Camilla were greeted with tunes of Dhoom Machale. This left no further doubt about its authenticity.

Soon the video of Dhoom Machale being played was shared on the discussion platform Reddit. The video left netizens in splits, and they took to the comment section of the post to share their views on it. A user penned, "Dhoom title track being played for the King and Queen was not on my 2025 bingo card!!" Another penned, "Of course, they had to play Dhoom title track as an ode to Hritik dressed as Camilla."

A user joked about Hrithik Roshan's character, 'Aaryan' from the film, Dhoom, finally getting the Kohinoor back and stated, "Yay! Aaryan finally gonna get our Kohinoor back." A user took a jab at India's history with Britain and said, "Why not? They’re the greatest thieves of all time." Another penned, "After all, they lead the OG heist." A comment read, "Haha, wtf, this is the best." A user wrote, "They also played Teri Meri from Bodyguard for William and Kate."
