Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur in 1954, when he was just nineteen years old. The two grew up together and shared four children. While the world knows about Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, not many know about Dharmendra's daughters, Vijeta and Ajeeta. The two daughters chose to stay away from media glare and starry events just like their mother, Prakash Kaur.

Dharmendra has six children from his two marriages with Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini. He welcomed his first daughter, Vijeta Deol, with his wife, Prakash Kaur. As of 2025, Vijeta is 63 years old and works as a director at Rajakam Holdings and Trading Private Limited. She is older than Bobby Deol, and her nickname is 'Lali'. Talking about her personal life, she is married to Vivek Gill in Delhi. She is blessed with two children, a son named Sahil and a daughter named Prerna. However, she and her family stay completely away from the media interaction and public events.

Dharmendra's younger daughter, Ajeeta Deol, also stays away from media events and Bollywood parties just like her elder sister. Her nickname is 'Dolly'. She is a pyschology teacher in the United States, and married to Dr. Kiran Chaudhary, who is an Indian-American dentist. She moved to California after her wedding. They are blessed with two daughters, Nikita and Priyanka Chaudhary. It is worth mentioning that she lives a peaceful life abroad.

Dharmendra's death at 89

Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, few days before his death. However, he was discharged from the hospital and was on ventilator support. His children, Sunny, Bobby, Esha, and Ahana, often visited him. For the unversed, a leaked video of the superstar surfaced on the internet after he had left the hospital.

It showed Dharmendra lying on a hospital bed, and he was unconscious. It was a painful sight to watch as his first wife, Prakash Kaur, standing next to him, was crying and praying for the recovery of her husband. It was a painful glimpse as Sunny Deol went to his mother, hugged her, and tried to console her. 

For those who don't know, Dharmendra later went on to marry Hema Malini, and the two welcomed two daughters from the marriage.
