Dharmendra was a living legend. From his first film, he showed the nation that he was here to rule the industry, and he went on to become the forever 'Angry Young Man' of Bollywood. The superstar wanted to work till his last breath, and he kept shooting. The actor's last film, Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda, is going to be released in December 2025. Now, his co-star recalled Dharmendra's health while shooting for the film.
Dharmendra's last onscreen appearance will be in Sriram Raghavan's Ikkis, which will be released in December 2025. In the film, Dharmendra plays the role of Agastya Nanda's grandfather, 'Brigadier ML Khetarpal'. His co-star, Suhasini Mulay is essaying the role of his wife. Recently, in an interview with News19, Suhasini Mulay talked about her experience of working with the late legend and how he was on set despite facing age-related issues.

It is worth mentioning that Dharmendra never talked about his health issues with his fans. He would always show off his lion avatar to the world. Suhasini revealed that even though Dharmendra was 89 years old, he didn't lost his sense of timing. They had little scenes together, but in those itself, Dharmendra's timing was amazing.

Suhasini also revealed her first meeting with the superstar. She shared that the first time they met, Dharmendra was sitting on a chair, but as soon as he saw her, he got up with difficulty and offered his chair to her, and didn't sat down while she was standing. Suhasini shared:
"He was very chivalrous. The first time that we met, he got up with some difficulty and offered me his chair. I told him to sit and that I would ask for another chair. But he told me, ‘Aap baithengi, tabhi main baithunga, nahi toh main kaise baith sakta hoon?’"

Suhasini further revealed that she was in awe of his superstardom. She revealed that since Dharmendra was 89 years old, he couldn't stand up for so long. So, his fans would come and sit with him and take get his autographs. They would even take photos while sitting with him, and he never shooed them away. She was quoted as saying:

"He was such a huge star but he didn’t let anybody feel it at all. People would come and take photographs with him. He couldn’t stand up. But they would sit with him and click pictures. He never shooed anybody away."
Suhasini also revealed that Dharmendra was a fan of paranthas. She revealed that they were staying at a five-star hotel. Dharmendra told the director of their film he wanted to eat parantha, but he wasn't allowed to have it. So, she told Dharmendra that she had one, and the legendary actor asked her to smmugle one or two for her. He told her one should have paranthe with ghee, and they laughed over it.

Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, few days before his death. However, he was discharged from the hospital and was on ventilator support. His children, Sunny, Bobby, Esha, and Ahana, often visited him. For the unversed, a leaked video of the superstar surfaced on the internet after he had left the hospital.
