Dharmendra, Bollywood’s 'He-Man', passed away on November 24, 2025, leaving behind his family, friends and fans mourning. He was not just an actor, but a pure emotion to everyone near and dear to him. He had been entertaining audiences for more than six decades. He was 89 years old when he left for the heavenly abode. Now, amid the heartbreaking news circulating online, a special moment has once again proven Dharmendra’s legacy as a veteran actor.
A while ago, the makers of Ikkis released the first look of veteran actor, Dharmendra from the upcoming film. For the unversed, Ikkis is scheduled to hit the theatres on December 25, 2025. This upcoming movie holds a special place in the hearts of the actor’s fans as it has been marked as his last film. The first look of Dharmendra for Ikkis portrayed a deeply moved avatar as he stepped into the shoes of 'Brigadier M. L. Khetarpal', the father of 21-year-old martyred Indian army officer, Arun Khetarpal. Arun was martyred when he was in action during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Dharmendra’s first look for Ikkis clearly portrayed the grief-stricken father who raised a national hero. Sharing the poster, the makers wrote:
"Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier. One timeless legend brings us the story of another. Ikkis in cinemas worldwide on 25th December 2025."

The upcoming movie, Ikkis, is very special to Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, as he will be making his theatrical debut with it. For the uninitiated, Agastya made his acting debut with Netflix’s film, The Archies. The film also starred Bollywood star kid, Suhana Khan. Now that Agastya is all set to make his silver screen debut, we came to know that he will be the protagonist of the film, Ikkis. While Dharmendra will play his on-screen dad, Agastya Nanda will be seen portraying the 21-year-old Param Vir Chakra awardee, Arun Khetarpal. Earlier, this year, in October 2025, a poster featuring Agastya as 'Arun' surfaced online. The post was captioned as:
"Woh Ikkis ka tha, Ikkis ka hi rahega. Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films present #Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, a true untold story of the youngest officer recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. In cinemas December 2025!"

Earlier, this month, on November 11, 2025, multiple reports surfaced that claimed that veteran actor, Dharmendra had passed away. But soon after, his family, including wife, Hema Malini, daughter, Esha Deol and son, Sunny Deol, strongly reacted to the media for spreading the fake death news. During that time, Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. But later, he was released and taken back home. He was recovering at his home, but on November 24, 2025, the veteran actor took his last breath.

Now, according to multiple reports, Dharmendra has been cremated in Mumbai. Heartbroken, Hema Malini and Esha Deol attended his final rites. Many celebrities, including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, had also attended the actor's final rites, which were held at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai. Dharmendra’s co-star from Sholay, Amitabh Bachchan, had also come with his grandson, Agastya Nanda. Fans and the industry used to address Amitabh and Dharmendra as 'Jay' and 'Veeru'.
