'Idli Kadai' Actor, Dhanush Breaks Silence On Wedding Rumours With Mrunal Thakur, 'No Plans Of...'

Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are currently grabbing all the attention as multiple reports suggest that the two are planning to tie the knot on February 14, 2026. For the unversed, the two sparked dating rumours in Mid 2025, when Dhanush attended the premiere of Son Of Sardaar 2. However, a few days ago, Mrunal's team shut down marriage rumours. And now, Dhanush has opened up about the same.

Dhanush has no plans of getting married again

Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur’s wedding rumour has been making rounds on social media, leaving fans excited. However, a source close to the Tere Ishk Mein actor, Dhanush had a candid conversation with Money Control, during which they revealed that Dhanush has no plans of getting married again. For those who do not know, Dhanush was previously married to Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The source was quoted as saying:

"This is just a rumour. They both are good friends just like any other actors in the industry. Dhanush has no plans to get married again. It is known that Dhanush parted ways with Aishwarya and they are co-parenting Yatra and Linga together. Their focus has always been on providing a stable and loving environment for the children."

When Mrunal Thakur shut down wedding buzz

A few days ago, a source close to actress, Mrunal Thakur sat down for a conversation with the Hindustan Times. During their candid chat, the source dismissed the wedding buzz and revealed that Mrunal has a few films lined up to release in February and March. The source further explained that Mrunal would not get married at such a crucial point. The source shared:

"Mrunal is not getting married next month. This is a rumour which has caught wind. She has a release scheduled for February, why would she get married in such close proximity of her film release? And then in March, she has another film's release in Telugu in March."

Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush’s dating buzz

For the unversed, Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush first sparked dating buzz a few months ago, when the Idli Kadai actor appeared at the special screening of Mrunal’s film, Son Of Sardaar 2. Several social media users believed that Dhanush had attended the same for Mrunal. A few weeks later, Mrunal addressed the buzz and revealed that Ajay Devgn had invited him. 

However, the rumours did not stop and eventually Mrunal put up an Instagram Story with her mother. Along with it, she penned a small note, which said that “rumours are free PR”. Later, during the promotions of the film, Tere Ishk Mein, Dhanush indirectly shut down the dating rumours as he called love an “overrated emotion”.

Apart from Dhanush, Mrunal Thakur has been linked with multiple celebrities in the last few months. In 2024, Mrunal was heavily linked with rapper, Badshah. Later, the singer shut down the buzz revealing that there was nothing between the two. In 2025, Mrunal was linked with Indian cricketer, Shreyas Iyer. However, the two remained tight lipped. Talking about Dhanush, he was previously married to Rajinikanth’s elder daughter, Aishwarya. However, the two parted ways after staying together for a few years. Today, they continue to co-parent their children.
