Dhanush Has Introduced His New Lady Love, Mrunal Thakur To His Family Amidst Reports Of Their Dating

South superstar, Dhanush's brewing love with Mrunal Thakur has become the talk of the nation. The serious-looking actor, who rarely indulges himself in unnecessary gossip buzz, is serious about his relationship with Mrunal as he arrived in style as a guest from Mrunal's side for the premiere of her film, Son Of Sardaar 2. Now, according to the latest buzz, Dhanush has introduced Mrunal to his family.

According to the latest buzz, things are getting serious between Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush. A latest report by Pinkvilla suggests that Dhanush might have introduced Mrunal to his family. The reports also speculate that it is the reason why Dhanush's two elder sisters, Dr. Karthika Karthik and Vimala Geetha, started following Mrunal on Instagram. It is also being reported that these developments coincided with the buzz about Mrunal and Dhanush's relationship surfacing. 

Not only this, a source confirmed to News18 that Mrunal and Dhanush are dating. However, they have no plans to make their relationship official as they are exploring the bond. The source also added that they do not care about being spotted publicly. On the other hand, their friends are praying for them. The source said:

"Yes, it’s true that they are dating. But it’s too new and they’ve no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they’re unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they’re quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts."

Mrunal and Dhanush's love story

Talking about their first meeting, the source revealed that Mrunal was busy shuttling for work between Mumbai and Hyderabad. It was during an event in the south where she met Dhanush for the first time. Soon, they felt a connection and their friendship blossomed into love. Also, it is worth mentioning that a Reddit user revealed that the duo have a joint Spotify playlist. The source shared:

"The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too. Mrunal, who is currently shooting for Dacoit: A Love Story with Adivi Sesh, keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad, and it’s during an event down south where she met Dhanush." 

The source further revealed that onlookers noticed Mrunal and Dhanush's closeness during the premiere of Kajol's film, Maa, in June 2025. Later, Dhanush's name in Mrunal's guest list for the premiere of Son Of Sardaar 2 intensified their dating buzz. 

Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush have nine years of age gap

As the South superstar's fans are happy to see their favourite actor in love again, people are talking about the rumoured lovebirds' significant age gap. Dhanush and Mrunal have a significant age gap, as the former is nine years older than her. Dhanush was born on July 28, 1983. He is currently 42 years old. Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur turned 33 years old this month, as she was born on August 1, 1992.
