Dhanush Finds Love Again At The Age Of 42, What Is The Age Gap Between Him And Mrunal Thakur?

South superstar, Dhanush seems to have fallen in love again after his divorce from Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth. According to the latest reports, Dhanush is dating Mrunal Thakur, and the duo were spotted at the actress' premiere of her latest film, Son Of Sardaar 2. Also, it is worth mentioning that earlier, Mrunal also marked her presence at the wrap-up party of Dhanush's upcoming Hindi film, Tere Ishq Mein. 

Dhanush, at the age of 42, finds love again in 33-year-old Mrunal Thakur

As the South superstar's fans are happy to see their favourite actor in love again, people are talking about the rumoured lovebirds' significant age gap. Dhanush and Mrunal have a significant age gap, as the former is nine years older than her. Dhanush was born on July 28, 1983. He is currently 42 years old. Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur turned 33 years old this month, as she was born on August 1, 1992. 

Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur's love story

According to a post by Reddit, Mrunal and Dhanush have a joint playlist on Spotify, which confirms that something is brewing between the two. According a report by News18 Showsha, the duo fell in love amidst busy schedule. Mrunal, who was shooting down in South, found solace in Dhanush. The report further stated that the source confirmed that the two are dating. The source said:

"Yes, it’s true that they are dating. But it’s too new and they’ve no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they’re unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they’re quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts."

Talking about their first meeting, the source revealed that Mrunal was busy shuttling for work between Mumbai and Hyderabad. It was during an event in the south where she met Dhanush for the first time. Soon, they felt a connection and their friendship blossomed into love. The source shared:

"The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too. Mrunal, who is currently shooting for Dacoit: A Love Story with Adivi Sesh, keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad, and it’s during an event down south where she met Dhanush." 

The source further revealed that onlookers noticed Mrunal and Dhanush's closeness during the premiere of Kajol's film, Maa in June 2025. Later, Dhanush's name in Mrunal's guest list for the premiere of Son Of Sardaar 2 intensified their dating buzz.

Talking about Dhanush's personal life, he was married to Rajinikanth's daughter, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, for eighteen years. They announced their separation in 2022. Recently, a video of Dhanush and Mrunal holding each other's hands and lost in conversation surfaced, and sparked their dating buzz. 

On the other hand, Mrunal Thakur has always kept her personal life away from media glares. However, she made headlines when she participated with Sharad Tripathi, who is a writer, in Nach Baliye 7.  They broke up after the show got over.
