Indian spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma tied the knot back in December 2020 when the COVID-19 lockdown had taken place. Their marriage did hit rock bottom, and reportedly, it was around 2022 that the choreographer, social media influencer, started staying away from her husband. The pair reportedly had compatibility issues before they opted for a divorce in February 2025. Now, Dhanashree has taken part in the reality show, Rise And Fall, where she gave out a strong message to women regarding their lives after divorce.
Dhanashree and Yuzvendra had filed a joint petition in the family court, and they were granted a divorce in March 2025. At the moment, they have moved on, and Dhanashree is giving her best shot in Rise and Fall. Yuzi, on the flip side, is busy with his cricket career, while Dhanashree is also working as a choreographer. The actress told Nayandeep and Pawan Singh in the show about how women need to pick themselves up after a divorce. She shared of working hard and revealed:
"Mei woh hi kar rahi hu. Infact aur bhi zyada mehnat karke kar rahi hu. Uska impact aisa hoh ki mai inspire karu baaki sare women ko. Ki nai boss you can still pick yourself up. Aap phir bhi aage badh sakte hoh. Infact aap aur bhi tezi se aage badh sakte hoh."
Dhanashree, earlier in Farah Khan's new vlog, shared if she was in touch with her ex-husband, Yuzi. She did admit to being in touch with him and sharing that the only way they are now in contact is via messages. Dhanashree did admit that things did settle down between Chahal and her. Dhanashree did remember the pet name given by him to her, which was 'Maa', which she always found sweet.
When Dhanashree and Yuzi were undergoing a divorce, she faced a lot of harsh trolling. It had intensified with time, and it was on the Humans Of Bombay podcast that Dhanashree confessed to being taken aback by his move. She thought that it could have been done in a private manner rather than making it a public spectacle. When she saw him in the t-shirt, Dhanashree shared:
"Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyun pehna hai? “You know that people are going to blame you."
Dhanashree shared that she did not know Yuzi would be wearing such a t-shirt with a cryptic note, but she was aware of being scrutinised during her divorce. Dhanashree had admitted to being blamed, targeted during her divorce. She also admitted that when the final verdict was proclaimed, she remembered crying and howling. Dhanashree did note that Yuzi had walked out first from the court while she remembered being there for him in every small and big achievement. In her words:

“I still remember when I was standing there and the verdict was about to be given. Even though we were so well-prepared mentally, I got so emotional. I started howling in front of everybody. I couldn’t even express what I was feeling at that point. I just remember that I just kept crying, I was just howling and crying. Of course! All of that happened, and he (Chahal) walked out first."
