The news of Saif Ali Khan being stabbed in his own home has shocked the entire country. The actor is recovering at the Lilavati Hospital. The cops have been fighting tooth and nail to find the attacker. In a major breakthrough, authorities, on January 18, 2025, arrested the suspected attacker from Durg, Chhattisgarh.
According to reports, the suspected attacker, Aakash Kailash Kanojia, travelled on the Jnaneswari Express train from Durg. The train was between Gondia and Rajnandgaon station when the Railway Protection Force was alerted by the Mumbai Police of the suspect's presence. The RPF was quick to act on the tip, and two teams were formed at Durg station upon the arrival of the train.
The teams got on the train and soon traced the suspect, and the arrest was made. Upon the arrest, a picture of the alleged attacker was shared with the Mumbai Police, who confirmed their identity. Following the arrest, Aakash was brought to the RPF Post in Durg and the Mumbai Police was kept in the loop through video calls. Once Aakash's detention was confirmed by the Durg RPF, a team of Mumbai Police left by air to reach Raipur and take charge of the suspect as soon as possible.
The suspect is currently reported to be kept under strict overwatch at the RPF Post in Durg. Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, confirmed the developments and revealed that the RPF caught the suspect. He also added that the Mumbai Police will soon be there to take over the charge. He was quoted saying:
"Actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked some days ago, and the suspect has been caught from Durg by RPF. Mumbai Police is coming,g and the suspect will be handed over to them."
The attacker, who is speculated to be named, Aakash Kailash Kanojia was travelling by Jnaneswari Express train when the Railway force received information about his whereabouts. The police had been looking for the suspect in relation to the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case. The police informed the Railway Protection Force about the attacker, after which he was arrested. DG RPF, Manoj Yadav spoke to CNN-News18 and revealed that they had made the arrest. He stated:

DG RPF revealed that after the arrest, the alleged attacker's photograph was shared with the Mumbai Police, who confirmed that it was the same person who attacked Saif Ali Khan. According to the reports, Mumbai Police has also confirmed the arrest and are on their way to take charge of the accused. However, the police have established that the attacker's identity is still speculation, and any further action would be taken only after complete verification.
