Veteran actor Satish Shah, known for his iconic comic timing and roles, passed away suddenly, leaving everyone shocked. The 74-year-old actor passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Mumbai. The final rites of Satish Shah were conducted at a crematorium in Bandra, where friends and colleagues from the industry gathered to pay their respects. Amidst the solemn proceedings, a profoundly moving moment emerged that resonated with many. The cast of the beloved show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, gathered around the pyre, singing the show's iconic theme song. This heartfelt tribute captured the essence of their bond and the show's impact, touching the hearts of fans and well-wishers who later shared the moment online.

Director Deven Bhojani shared the poignant moment on Instagram 

Actor and director, Deven Bhojani took to Instagram to share a heartfelt, emotional video of Satish Shah’s funeral.  He also shares the emotional significance behind the sincere tribute. Posting the video of the cast singing together, he wrote: 

"May look mad, dark, weird, whatever, but we always sing this when together & today was not an exception. Felt as if INDU himself insisted and joined us. #RIP #SatishShah ji, I am blessed to have directed you in #SarabhaiVsSarabhai. You'll live forever in our hearts.

Deven’s post offered a glimpse into a cherished tradition held dear by the cast of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. The show, which was co-directed by Deven Bhojani and Aatish Kapadia, earned widespread acclaim for its unique story and memorable characters, leaving a lasting impact on audiences and the industry alike.

Inconsolable Rupali Ganguly and Rajesh Kumar 

An emotional farewell was bid to veteran actor Satish Shah on Sunday morning in Mumbai on October 26, 2025. Satish co-stars, Rupali Ganguly and Rajesh Kumar, were seen breaking down during the funeral. At the funeral venue, both actors were visibly inconsolable, requesting photographers to stop filming the moment. Rupali Ganguly played 'Monisha Sarabhai,' while Rajesh Kumar, who played her on-screen husband, 'Rosesh,' was also visibly overwhelmed and broke down as he left the ceremony.

Satish Shah's manager recalls the late actor's final moments

Later, actor Satish Shah’s manager, Ramesh Kadatala, announced the actor's sudden death on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Speaking with ANI, Ramesh recalled that Satish collapsed while having his meal around 2 pm or 2:45 pm. He added that it took half an hour to get an ambulance to take Satish to the hospital.

Satish Shah’s four-decade-long career

Actor Satish Shah, had a four-decade career in both films and television. He started in 1976 with a small role in the movie Bonga, which eventually led him to lead roles in some of the most iconic TV sitcoms and supporting roles in many big Bollywood hits. While many remember him for his role as Indravadan Sarabhai in the sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, his career dates back to the 1970s and 1980s, and he is known for iconic characters. He was part of the highest-grossing Indian films, including Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Main Hoon Naa, Hero No. 1, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, and many others. But he was best remembered for his roles on TV, from Ye Jo Hai Zindagi to Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.
